About this deal

This doesn’t mean we need to become legalistic about the details of Christ’s birth. Nor do we need to toss out our nativity scenes. Instead, we enjoy the Christmas narrative and hold close to the truth found in Scripture. However, most modern biblical scholars say that it is more likely that the Holy Family traveled in a caravan of people. From nativity plays to crèche sets to Christmas cards, animals are ubiquitous in our vision of the birth of Christ – but according to the Bible, not a single animal was there. Where did all these animals come from, and why are they now so central to the story? In the common image of the Nativity for Orthodox Christians, Mary, the God-bearer, is obviously central, reclined, with Jesus wrapped in his swaddling clothes (like a buried corpse, an evident foreshadow), in his manger. But the two nearest the manger, and the first looking in, are the ox and the ass. Where did Jesus get born? The most common image of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem features a pregnant Mary riding a donkey, while Joseph is leading the way on foot.

Where did Mary and Joseph travel from to get to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born? Many stories exist as to why Joseph, and a heavily pregnant Mary riding on a donkey, took their five-day journey (possibly longer) from Nazareth to Bethlehem, often referred to as the Nativity Trail. Why was there no room at the inn? A Brown Donkey. At the bottom of a cliff near Greendale forest on the Graydew Mountain side of things. Other supplies you may need to look into and have for owning a donkey include a lead rope, halter, and a brush. In the New Testament (Mark 11:1-11) it is told that as Jesus approached the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples to a nearby village to fetch him a donkey, or exactly an Onager or wild donkey. Upon their return, Jesus then rode the donkey into Jerusalem where he was met by cheering crowds. What was Mary’s donkey called? In most houses, invoking the holy trinity of J, M and J from the mouth of either of your parents usually meant the neighbour’s youngest had gone and got pregnant, your brother had broken one of the ‘good’ plates or you’d done something REALLY bad. Why did Joseph take Mary to Bethlehem? So we know, that from very early times, Christians had the image of Mary riding a donkey to Bethlehem before Christmas.

Bible Gateway Matthew 21 :: NIV. saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” Does the Bible mention an innkeeper? Donkeys appear in the Quran four distinct times. At times, the prophet Muhammed rode a donkey called Ya`fūr, which means “deer” in Arabic. Ya`fūr could speak, and claimed to be descended from the donkey that Jesus rode during his return to Jerusalem. ( source) Hindu

Buying a donkey is only a fraction of the cost; keeping that care and maintaining your donkey’s health is the true expense.
