About this deal

It also improves the surround sound experience across the entire theater by widening the listening "sweet spot". In this respect, Denon excels with the entire X-range, the AVR-S960 and the limited edition A-model, all offering 8K@60Hz passthrough and upscaling, as well as 4K@120Hz. to use a special variant of its DTS:X codec technology integrated in home audio equipment to deliver an IMAX signature The receiver is marked IMAX Enhanced. This means that it supports IMAX, and there will be a number of movie titles from Sony on the way eventually. Among other things, through Sony’s own power service Bravia CORE, for the TV models from 2021 onwards. Time will tell if it will be expanded over time. Enjoy your favourite movies, shows and games with the best picture quality available. The AVC-X3700H features an advanced HDMI section (7 in/3 out) with a dedicated 8K input that will support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through. All HDMI inputs feature 4:4:4 Pure Color sub sampling, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), Dynamic HDR, and BT.2020 pass-through support for exceptional color, clarity and contrast. Enjoy full-rate 8K upscaling as well as HDCP 2.3 processing to play copy-protected content uninhibited. The AVC-X3700H also adopts eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) to support 3D audio formats directly from your smart TV apps to your AV amplifier. ADVANCED VIDEO CONTROLS

The top model of the S-series offers the same channel count as the bottom model of the X-series but delivers slightly less power. There's another step down in the Audyssey speaker calibration software and the loss of bi-amping capability. Denon AVR-S760H (2021) This is especially true of the incredibly helpful set-up wizard, which guides you step-by-step through the entire process, including using the Audyssey room correction software. The menu system is intuitively laid-out, and there’s even a web-based interface if you prefer.delivered by DTS. Not only will IMAX Enhanced content look and sound amazing, but other audio/video content will also sound from the front speakers is too bright. This function only works in the Dolby Digital & DTS modes. built-in Bluetooth for wireless music listening with smartphones, tablets, and compatible computers Apple AirPlay 2 lets you stream directly from an iPhone® or iPad® and ask Siri to play Apple Music® The X3700H has seven HDMI inputs, and three HDMI outputs, all of which can handle 4K/60Hz, HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. One of the inputs and one of the outputs also support the latest HDMI 2.1 specs, such as 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM, and eARC.

The newest and most affordable model in the X-range of Denon's receivers, the AVC-X1700H, offers the same channel count, format support and room calibration software as its sibling, the AVR-X2700H, with a drop-down in power to 80W (8 ohms) under stereo conditions. If you do not need all the 11.2 receiver channels and also the 13.2 processor channels of the more than twice as expensive AVC-X6700H, then this seems like the most sensible choice. In between there is the X4700H receiver, but there you pay extra for Auro 3D support, a strange surround format that few will need, plus only marginally more power (20 watts more per channel). AVC-X3700H. Photo: Denon Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Denon AVR-S750H has the same channel count as the two higher up models but loses out on HDMI 2.1 connections. 8K passthrough and 4K@120Hz are therefore dropped, as are upscaling, HDR10+, VRR, QMS and QFT. After quarter-of-an-hour or so of letting the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration tech do its work, and a bit of manual fine-tuning, this new Denon bursts into life, grabbing our attention and holding it tight for the duration of our testing. (Important note: while our review model was already well run in, a new one will need a good 24 hours of warming up straight from the box.)

MultEQ® XT32 auto setup and room calibration delivers balanced, dynamic sound with enhanced surround performance While the X3700H has nine channels built-in, you can run anything from a standard 5.1-channel setup to an immersive 7.2.4-channel speaker configuration with two independent subwoofers, although the latter will require additional amplification. You can also run two-channel for music. Power-wise, the AVR-S660H matches the AVR-S760H, but with only 5.2 channels, this AVR doesn't have the necessary height channels to necessitate the support of 3D sound formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
