Fatal error: Call to a member function insert()

Postby Suji » Tue Dec 14, 2010 6:00 am

Hi Experts,

I am getting Fatal error: Call to a member function insert() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\magentonew\app\code\core\Mage\Core\Model\Mysql4\Resource.php on line 96. I google it and couldn't find an answer. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times but couldn't rid of when I try to install and get into admin.

Note: I took copy of recent installation from old system and trying to install in new machine.

Please let me know what is the issue.

regards

Suji

Thanks for your reply. The issue I found that SQL file which we installed on our database is wrong. We have downloaded the file directly from magento admin -> via backup and installed in new machine. Then it doesn't throw any error and successfully installed in new system.

yep always best to use the admin backup tool to get Magento DB Dumps

check out this extension which improves the admin backup significantly

do you have <active>1</active> under your connection in app/etc/local.xml? This fixed a similar issue for me.
