About this deal

If there is an interval, or a break for food or something else, this is ‘downtime’ for us where we are not generating money for you. To maximise your fundraising we offer some fun ‘pay to play’ interval entertainments to keep your audience engaged and entertained. Choose from: The race night was very easy to run. Never having done anything like this before, I was very apprehensive but it all ran smoothly.

Thanks again for your impeccable service and I will definitely be in touch again before our next fundraiser. The ‘Race Night Double’ is an entry sheet where a player correctly predicts both the winning results in two races (usually race 5 & 7). There are 64 possible combinations. Each player writes their name in a square on the special Race Night Double entry sheet. The person who has correctly predicted correct result in both races wins a cash prize. All entries must be sold to guarantee a winner. There can be only one winner with the correct combination of result. The value of the prize depends on the price per entry. For example, in this kind of race night each player pays a fee for a randomly selected ‘horse’ in each ‘race’. The player with the winning horse can receive a prize proportionate to the stakes placed, up to the limits. Prizes If there are third parties selling goods or services at your event this doesn’t count as money raised for charity and can be kept by the third party. Who can take part For example, those who have paid are given or select a named horse in the race. The winners are then awarded the prizes that had been advertised in advance. PrizesThere are always 8 runners per race to sponsor. The runners may be horses, piggies or doggies, depending on the type of event. (Just bear in mind that whatever you do, don’t sell the runners in an auction race. More on that later…) People can own as many runners as they like, and the sponsoring cost is up to you, but keep the sponsoring cost the same for every runner, and also have only one class of sponsor per runner, otherwise people get confused as to who owns what, and you’ll make things extremely difficult for yourselves. There are several jobs that will need to be done before and during the race night, ultimately the amount of effort that goes in determines how much money you will raise. This kind of fundraising event can only take place at sports venues under an occasional use notice (OUN). The OUN allows the licensed bookmaker to provide betting facilities at the sports venue for a short period of time. Before the race night

Because the betting is being used for fundraising, it doesn't matter if the bets taken is held at that venue. The sporting event where the bets are taken also doesn't need to be taking place at the same time as the betting under the OUN. Owners are usually the first to sponsor a runner. Try to sell all of the ‘owners’ first as it guarantees a winning owner in each race. If you sell the runners in advance of the event, you can offer the ‘owner’ the chance to re-name their runner. Some clients charge for the privilege, some don’t, it’s up to you. It’s free money for you as there is no input cost. You can just provide us with the names and we’ll format them on to your race cards for you. If you prefer not to sell them in advance, or have some left unsold, we can try to sell them on the night at the event, but then you won’t have the option of changing the runners name as the race cards will have been printed. It's a good idea to either arrange a bar for the evening if the venue doesn't have one or, if that's not possible, remind people to bring their own drinks. Many race nights have a break for food during the evening. Fish and chips is a popular choice; a buffet also works well.

Before the start of the race, guests will have the opportunity to view the horses in the parade ring and listen to the commentator’s analysis of the horses. We can also play the parade ring after the bets have been placed, as this often adds to the fun!

To run this kind of race night, players must be told before playing what good cause will benefit from the profits of the race. The 1-2-3 Tricast has 336 possible combinations, and you should only attempt this if you are confident of selling all the entries to guarantee a winner. It can be sold before and during the event. The compere will agree with the client which race will be run with the

You can’t make any profits, even if you intend to donate the profits to charity or good causes. Private clubs At the end of the event, clear analysis including graphs and charts are automatically produced showing the betting activity throughout the evening. A financial summary can be printed so that any monies can be reconciled.

We know no one likes to pay extra costs, so we do everything we can to keep our fees as low as we can, while still being able to offer you the best possible service. This includes any kind of admission fee or fee for taking part. You also can’t deduct money from stakes or prizes. Players must select a horse totally dependent on chance. You can’t give odds or form to help players choose. For example, you could play a video of a horse race that’s already taken place as long as you didn’t reveal details of the horses.None of the following exemptions for these forms of gambling can be carried out remotely, for example over the internet or social media.
