About this deal

Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. com, the Sell on Etsy app, and the Etsy app, as well as the electricity that powers Etsy’s global offices and employees working remotely from home in the US. In all cases, however, if deeply dry, woody smokiness is your thing, you may want to give Sehr el Kalemat a try. Ultimately though, as with everything related to perfumery, it’s a matter of personal tastes and style. Once that dissipates you will be greeted with a very wearable cold weather sweet vanilla/oud fragrance which is "western" enough not to offend anybody even the relatively inexperienced noses.

As for the details, well, for me, it’s like describing food: texture, feel, little subtleties from spices on top to what the meat may be infused with. Sprayed it today and it’s very similar to the original Kalemat except for the fresh basil note and a smokier nuance. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The scent is a simple thin veil of smoky salty sweet pineapple popcorn, and the jewel in its depths is a slightly funky authentic oud note which I haven't smelled in any western oud fragrance.Plus, Kalemat has a lovely tobacco element that I can’t find here, the oud doesn’t smell sharply synthetic, and it doesn’t have that scratchy steeliness about the wood element. And then about an hour the Oud and the Vanilla and the amber and the Basil rise up imploding from your skin into your aura. If you ever use the Zahra site, be warned that almost all their perfume notes and descriptions seem to be incorrect. The first time I tested Sehr el Kalemat and applied only a little, the bouquet after 15 minutes was of cocoa-dusted berries with saffron, vanilla, synthetic dryness, honeyed amber, slight smoke, and a faintly oud-y wood. The woodiness of the Agar is also prevalent early on but not at all in the medicinal way that Oud can sometimes be present, speaking to the obviously high quality ingredients.

It kind of feels like you're feeding pigeons in front of the Mosque just around the corner from the bazzar, whilst looking on the Bosphorous and a yellowish orange sunset sky dotted by the ever present seagulls. The opening blast of Frankincense is rendered quite fresh with the addition of Basil but lasts only a few minutes before the Vanilla takes over, creating a gorgeous sweet caramel-ish vibe. The things that I like about Sehr el Kalemat, I can simply get from Kalemat itself — and more of it, too.

Dry and sweet usually counter each other — at least when they are at extremes, as they seemed to be here. It took my quite some time to review this fragrance on Fragrantica because I had to make some time to really try to encapsulate in words what this fragrance is all about in my most respectful honest opinion. I've worn this a few times now and like a complex malt whisky or wine, you have to get to know and savour it. With a smaller dosage of two small sprays, Sehr el Kalemat’s longevity is naturally much less, but it still clocks it at over 13 hours on my nutty skin. I will likely but this eventually, but for now, I appreciate Abdul Samad Al Qurashi’s offerings more (mainly Safari Extreme and Qurashi Blend).
