It is entirely original, riveting for the entirety of its length, and even, at some points, terrifying.

As an addition to the series, it's assumed that you as the reader have already watched at least the first season. The characters also dont feel the same, I know they're supposed to be younger and that the war changed them, but still.

There is a lot to catch up on to fully grasp the backstory of Carnival Row, but the good news is it has already been renewed for a second season which means the show’s creators will have plenty more time to delve into the world they have created.
