About this deal

This Tourist Attraction in Singapore Is a Beer-Lover's Dream Come True". Spot.PH. 23 November 2018. Tasted like a regular lager, no real complaints there. Perhaps a little creamy off taste but generally it was ok. Getting the malts and grains, and the fruits, with the hops on the low level.

Unlike a lot of other Asian beers, Tiger actually use quality ingredients from Australia and Europe. No shitty rice beers here! The elephant beer (chang = elephant) is brewed by the ThaiBeverage brewery, which is one of the largest and most modern breweries in Thailand. The headquarter of the Brewery is in Bangkok, but Chang beer is actually produced in the city of Ayutthaya. Chang beer can be bought as a can and as a bottle. The classic Chang beer has an alcohol content of 5.0 Vol – %. Due to this high alcohol content, two elephants are shown on the bottle. True to the motto: drink one and see two. Tiger Beer is a Singapore brand of beer first launched in 1932. It is currently produced by Heineken Asia Pacific, formerly known as Asia Pacific Breweries. The company is a joint-venture between Heineken N.V. and Singaporean multinational food and beverage company Fraser and Neave. One of them is Pasteur Street Breweries Passion Fruit Wheat Ale which is well adored for its perfectly balanced fruity flavour. Furbrew’s Bia Pho will provide a highly interesting tasting experience as this beer was designed to replicate the taste of Vietnam’s national dish, Pho. Other Vietnamese craft creations to enjoy are C-Brewmasters Lemongrass Ale and Winking Seal Beer Co’s Nam Nam Nam Cream Ale. Best Vietnamese Beers to Pair With Pho? However, Tiger Radler was launched just over a year ago (December 2013). Google it and you'll find loads of local press coverage on it. In the movie The Odd Angry Shot about the Australian Special Air Service during the Vietnam War, Tiger is considered the beer of choice amongst American and Aussie troops. Tiger is seen as a favourite amongst British troops during the Malayan Emergency in the film The Virgin Soldiers. To be frank I was a little disappointed as the overall taste was ok but nothing too exciting, a bit bland in fact, nothing to set it apart from the millions of lagers out there. Disappointed as I have had this beer many a time when I was in Asia. In fact it was my most favourite beer that side of the world, lovely from the taps. I just guess it doesn’t travel well, and not so exciting in a bottle thousands of miles away from home. Perfect for the hot humid Asian cityscape, not so when its piddling down in bog town Ireland!

There is 4.7% alcohol in Tiger beer in the UK, but if you were to buy Tiger beer in Singapore (or most other countries) it would be 5%. Sadly, this seems to be a common occurrence with beer that is brewed in the UK on behalf of international companies. We’ve seen this with Fosters and Sol.Whilst 333 Premium export is a rice beer. Many of the beers in Vietnam take inspiration from European or American beers but add their own unique methods and touches of authentic Vietnamese flavour to the creation. Vietnamese Beers To Try Radler is just another type of shandy. Shandy's a mixture of beer and some flavoured carbonated soda (usually citrus, fruits, ginger beer). The term "radler" is popularly used in Germany where they mix part beer with part sparkling lemonade (or Sprite or 7-Up as we know it in Malaysia). The creation of beer in Vietnam began in the late 19th century. The French started Vietnam’s first breweries during their colonial rule over Vietnam. Beer started to become a popular drink for soldiers, foreigners and locals alike in both Northern and Southern Vietnam around similar times. In Saigon, the foundations of Sabeco were formed. The brewing giant from The Netherlands, Heineken have always had a helping hand in the creation of this iconic brand. They came up with the idea of a brewery this side of the world, but were initially thinking of Indonesia, as the nation was a Dutch colony, but were denied. Singapore was then chosen. Together with Fraser and Neave (F&N), Heineken launched Malayan Breweries in 1931, and a year later we got Tiger Beer. Today, Heineken owns 42% of the shares of Asia Pacific Breweries.
