About this deal

Greek producer Three Cents partnered with Cask Liquid Marketing to distribute its mixers in the UK.

Aperol has become such a popular summer drink that many of the big name supermarkets are now selling cheaper versions (Image: Emily Collis/BirminghamLive) An infusion of blossoms, roots and spices are balanced with wormwood before, lastly, distilled Chapel Down Chardonnay grape skin distillate is added to enhance the flavor. With a low ABV of 0.9 units per serve, it’s designed for a longer, lighter drink experience and is ‘set to disrupt the UK vermouth category and redefine aperitif culture’ in the country. Warren Scott, founder of Kliro Capital Partners, commented: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of ICB. It is a good business with a strong leadership team and we believe that there is significant potential for growth both in the UK and beyond. We put the cheaper alternatives from M&S, Asda, Lidl and Aldi to the test against the real deal. One of them wasn't worth the money but one supermarket apéritif was just as tasty as the original. Here's how we got on... AperolThe partnership is intended to be the brand’s ‘first of many’ with the designer, with Zouganeli having created a white, blue and gold bottle, with an exterior inspired by the heritage of Greek clothing. The campaign is aiming to hit 27 million impressions over the next month, reaching drinkers in eight different consumer touchpoints. Made using Pinot Noir from one of Chapel Down’s vineyards in the heart of Kent and wild fermented eau de vie made with raspberries fresh from the Cotswolds, Aker prides itself on bringing out the true character of its finest English ingredients. Made with bitter, sweet orange and herbal flavours, it is recommended mixed with soda and Prosecco to create a Spritz.

The partnership includes a branded bar to be set up at the events, featuring a mural, along with 360-rotation menus and counter fridges.

Three distinct ‘visual universes’ are available to choose from for the designs, which take inspiration from symbols of Cuban tradition.

Aperol has got to be the ultimate summer drink. Possibly a controversial opinion, but give me a big cold glass of that bitter orange fizz over a Pimm's any day. It also features a ‘striking white’ to resemble the Greek islands. Distilled and bottled in Greece, Mataroa Gin uses ingredients from the countries of the Mediterranean.

Co-founder George Bagos said: “We are delighted to work with Cask Liquid Marketing, a company that shares the same passion and philosophy as Three Cents. The collaboration sees the release of 1,000 limited-edition bottles of The Explorer Mezcal, with proceeds to be donated to The Caring Family Foundation’s rainforest-saving commitments. The VK Glow Up Fresher’s Tour will take place on 50 dates, featuring UV effects and merchandise giveaways across UK cities.

We are committed to working closely with the ICB team to maximise the company’s potential through driving the pursuit of excellence in the drinks industry. This is the first step in our strategy to create a leading group supplying a diverse range of drinks products to UK retailers and third-party brand owners.” We have been experiencing a strong and continuous growth in the UK for the past few years, and this new partnership will provide the brand increased support to sustain its development and achieve our ambitions.” A collaboration between English wine producer Chapel Down and spirits distiller Capreolus Distillery has resulted in Aker: a new English aperitif. I was right in thinking that Aperol would be hard to beat - none of the supermarket versions were better the original in terms of flavour. But - I thought M&S's was on a par. It is made at the Melissanidi Distillery using a secret recipe of 12 botanicals, herbs and spices. Raised in Athens and Mykonos, Zouganeli has collaborated with brands such as Dior and Swarovski. The Aperitivo smelled a lot boozier, as well, so it wasn't surprising that it tasted more alcoholic than the first two. The taste was very similar to Aperol's - not quite as sweet, but the same zesty orange flavour and colour, with a strong but pleasant aftertaste. It's also the Marmite of the alcohol world. Poll your friends and it's pretty much guaranteed half of them will say it's their absolute favourite beer garden beverage, while the rest will pull a face and say it tastes like cough medicine. The expression is made with bitter, sweet orange and herbal flavours. It is recommended mixed with soda and Prosecco to create a Spritz.
