About this deal

The setting was extremely atmospheric, channeling a gothic vibe by incorporating some of the island's earlier history and lore into the tale.

Olivia, wasn’t the biggest fan of Will and was also distraught about having to keep the secret from Jules. After studying English Literature at Durham University in Northeast England and University College London, Foley worked for several years as a fiction editor in the publishing industry, before leaving to write full-time. The Hunting Party was inspired by a particularly remote spot in Scotland that fired her imagination. Once again, Lucy writes an amazing setting! The island itself is by far another character. It’s beautiful but dangerous with especially rough waters. The island is only two miles from one end to the other and is described as longer than wide. And the only way to get the island is from a private boat. The island adds to the mystery setting especially when it comes to the eventual murder. She’s Charlie’s wife and a bit jealous of her husband’s long history with the bride. She’s worried about the state of her her marriage to Charlie. She’s still haunted by the suicide of her sister Alice, whose boyfriend uploaded a revenge porn video that led to Alice taking her own life. Olivia The Paris Apartment was published February 22, 2022. It is a mystery/thriller novel. The book was named one of the most anticipated books of the year by Goodreads [16] and Good Housekeeping. Generic Mystery Questions by LitLovers. Please feel free to use them, online or off, with attribution. Thanks.) Sorry friends who loved and praised this one! It was a perfectly fine book, and it has all the right ingredients for a good murder mystery whodunnit - creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere, multiple suspects with motive to kill, loads of secrets threatening to be revealed, and five intriguing narrators to move the story along, all wrapped up in a big festive occasion. Overall, it was a passable way to spend a few hours, but it doesn't quite rise above all the other modern thrillers in this over-saturated genre. It's just if you're going to build up an entire story on nothing but anticipation and petty drama, when it finally gets to the payoff, it better blow me away. And this just didn't. This is definitely one just for mystery-thriller fans. (I also wouldn’t recommend buying it for any young readers as it does have more “adult” aspects of it’s plot.) I read it over one weekend and for whatever flaws it has, I did enjoy the mystery. There’s enough cleverness in there that you’ll likely feel it was worth the time. He’s a longtime friend (and former crush) of the bride. Something dark happened to him at the stag party. He seems to have a history of drinking too much.

Did Will really not know that he had been involved with both sisters? Olivia used Jules’s apartment as a spot for her trysts with Will. Had Will never been to Jules’s apartment? Did Johnno deserve what happened to him?a b Weiss, Keely (2 July 2020). "16 Thriller Books That'll Give You Instant Goosebumps". Harper's BAZAAR . Retrieved 27 December 2021. Our bridesmaid is Olivia, also Jules’ half-sister. We find out that Olivia and Will had a fling when Olivia was barely legal to do such things. Jules is not happy about this. Hannah, called the ‘Plus-one’, is there as a date for Charlie. Charlie is Jules’ best friend since childhood and they also had a fling at one point—something that reignited the flame Charlie has always kept for Jules. Of course, Hannah is not very pleased about this. We also have a litany of groomsmen who all went to College with Will, a place where much upper-class debauchery and rituals took place, some of which get exposed during the wedding weekend. And then someone turns up dead. Who didn’t wish the happy couple well? And perhaps more important, why? The characters The Guest List is a fun, fast-paced, guessing game of a read; perfect for fans of Dame Agatha Christie, or Ruth Ware.
