About this deal

I think the colours are red, yellow and brown but kind of light. I am not sure but I am guessing by the look of it. But the person who made the tutorial should have still put the name of the colours. Reply When painting skin, it is very important to be mindful of the light source and its influence on the surface of the skin. Begin with one of your highlight colors. Create a base by coloring the whole surface of the skin except for the lightest section right where the light hits the body. Step 2: Also, if you want to spice up your color theory, this full guide will help you out :) What are colors made out of?

I’ve written a tutorial describing how to blend colored pencils without solvents. The tutorial is now available at Colored Pencil Tutorials. It’s ideal for artists who cannot use solvents for health reasons or who simply prefer not to use solvents. The colors you select depend a great deal on the skin tone of the person you are drawing. Not only do you have to consider whether they are light-, medium- or dark-skinned, but you also should pay close attention to their skin’s undertone. Some have more pink undertones while others might haven an olive tint. Paying close attention to these details will help you narrow down the colors you will need. Advanced color accents Now that you have created your color boundaries (in both the light and dark direction), you can then begin the blending process. We recommend starting on the light side and slowly building up to the dark side. This is because it is much easier to darken a color than to lighten a color. Identify the area of your work that has the lightest composition and start from there. UNIQUE DESIGN】Angular shape prevents markers from rolling off smooth table top. It's easy and comfortable to hold it. The color number features on the cap. You can intuitively see the color of each marker. And it's convenient to get the color you want when you're creating. When I started drawing, I remember searching and searching for tutorials, tips or methods, and never finding exactly what I was looking for. Especially for drawing skin. Even though there is a ton of “tutorials” on the internet, they are either too complicated, or missing crucial points (intentionally or unintentionally!). Or they are not about photorealistic drawings. So, I decided to share all my personal tips, most of which I found out by myself, through trial and error. I strongly believe that knowledge should be shared and not kept to ourselves, so here we go!

The only issue you may run into with the Derwent Coloursoft Pencils is that they aren’t great for highly detailed areas. This could include those spots of skin near the hairline or around the eyes and eyelashes. For these spots, we recommend using a fine-point blender to blend the color in and then going through with a more precise pencil with a smaller core diameter for better control.

Skin Tone Pencils - Skin tone pencil set includes 12 assorted skin tone color shades. Professional artist quality premium skin colored pencils that are perfect for the beginning and experienced artists's needs for drawing, sketching, and coloring. Perfect medium for wildlife and nature studies, as well as landscapes and portraits. A positive of the Procolour Pencil compared to the Coloursoft pencil is that the lead is a bit firmer. This means that this pencil can also be used more easily in highly detailed areas. You can also get richly saturated color by drawing just a few layers and using heavier pressure throughout, but I don’t have much experience with this method, so can’t give specific tips. Grab your highlight and midtone colors and keep layering them over what you have already colored. Increase the pressure you use to paint with the pencils and mix everything together by coloring in circular motion. Although this is a full set of colored pencils, and not just skin tone, we felt it was worth including with the rest of the options. As we’ve mentioned before, to truly achieve dynamic and lifelike skin tones, it’s all about the undertones. Finally, we have found many great teachers that produce awesome content on Youtube. If you go to Youtube and do a search for “coloring skin with colored pencils”, there are tons of helpful videos out there to assist you. Thankfully, the days of combining regular colored pencils to reach a semi-normal skin tone are over. There are several options for skin tone colored pencils on the market these days, making it easier to create vivid, lifelike portraits. There’s something to be said for strokes and their role in blending colors. When you apply your first soft layers, you want to use a combination of different directional strokes (overlapping diagonal, horizontal and vertical strokes on top of each other). Around layers three through six, you can start painting in a circular motion to conceal any harsh lines in previous layers. General tones

People tend to use a highlight color on one side, a shadow on the other and blend these two colors in the middle. There’s nothing wrong with that technique, but I suggest using a saturated color instead in the middle to give the painting more vibrancy. Follow the example below to understand this method better. Step 1: Make sure you use all of these solvents safely. Work in a well-ventilated space and exercise caution. Don’t work around children or pets, and make sure to clean your work area and tools thoroughly. Close containers when you finish.

Because of that, having the ability to blend colors and build up your custom skin tone is essential. You’re not likely to find a high-quality colored pencil that’s any less expensive than Prismacolor. The fact of the matter is that price has been their main claim to fame for years. They are a good pencil at a good price. We mentioned the smaller set of skin-colored Derwent Coloursoft Pencils above. But these pencils are part of the larger and more practical full 72-count set of Derwent Coloursoft Pencils. While many of the colors in the larger set will not be practical for use when doing skin tones, the added versatility of the larger set makes it a better buy, in our opinion.
