The book got an Updated Re-release in 2010, with several small details changed to make it mesh better with later canon. I like the detail and the emotion in the family members’ faces as they leave their house, while they are in a hotel waiting out the storm, and in the end when they are finished fixing their house and they are having fun. The book claims that some of the Marine NPCs Chief fights alongside are actually ODSTs, though the game itself makes no mention of this. The water rushing around the periphery of the family safe in a hotel room while their aforementioned domicile is dashed apart by the river they built it right next to was a beautiful touch.
