About this deal

The choice of internal storage capacities is ample at either 64GB or 128GB. You can’t really ask for more at this price. The Xiaomi Redmi 9AT is a low-end smartphone released by the Chinese tech company Xiaomi in August 2020, as part of the Redmi 9 series. Other models in the same series include Xiaomi Redmi 9, Xiaomi Redmi 9C, Xiaomi Redmi 9A, Xiaomi Redmi 9i, Xiaomi Redmi 9T, Xiaomi Redmi 9 Power, and Xiaomi Redmi 9 Activ. If you're looking for a sharp shooter, you've come to the right place. The Xiaomi Redmi 9AT comes with a 13 MP AI rear camera and HD 1080p video resolution.

We also appreciate that the handset features NFC for full Android Pay compatibility, which is important in these increasingly cashless times. While this isn’t an unusual inclusion, it’s worth remembering that the Moto G8 omits NFC. Weighing 199g, it isn’t the lightest handset either but then it does have a gigantic 6.53in screen and a chunky 5,000mAh battery. The Redmi Note 9T’s screen is topped with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 5 but don’t expect it to survive a dunk in the bath since it only has a water-repellent coating.

Special and out of bundle numbers chargeable.4G phone required to access 4G. 4G available in selected areas. The lingering suspicion is that budget phone manufacturers simply throw such components into the mix because they’re a cost-effective way of hitting ‘quad-camera’ status. Call us cynical, but we can’t see how either of these 2-megapixel sensors add anything meaningful to day-to-day shooting. Applies to calls made in in the UK and when roaming in our Europe Zone to standard landlines and mobiles. Minute minimum charges apply 2. Text message The rear triple camera array and LED flash is housed within a large circle at the top portion of the rear panel and surrounded by a stylish metal trim. The Xiaomi Redmi 9AT screen size comes in at a large 6.53 inches, with a crisp Dot Drop (HD+) LCD display. Plus, enjoy your favourite ebooks with the dedicated reading mode.

The device is powered by a Mediatek Helio G25 12nm processor, paired with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. AnTuTu's score is around 102778. As for the cameras, it has a 13.0MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.2, and a 5.0MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a pixel size of 1.120. The front camera has a viewing angle of 83° and the rear camera has a viewing angle of 74º. UK and Europe Zone data usage only. Data used while outside of our Europe Zone is not included. Applies if a data bundle Bolt On is not chosen. 5. Calls to customer services Furthermore, we get very good runtimes with the Redmi 9AT in our Wi-Fi test under realistic conditions (display brightness at 150 cd/m²), but the Redmi 9A gets about 3 hours more out of the 5,000 mAh battery with (almost) identical hardware. Video capture isn’t up to the standard of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, with a mere 1080p 30fps on offer rather than the 4K 30fps/1080p 60fps of its predecessor. But it does a basic job. You won’t see any higher refresh-rate wizardry with the Redmi Note 9, which largely remains the preserve of pricier phones. But in general, Xiaomi has focused on the right things with this budget display. CamerasConversely, while The Gardens Between runs reasonably smoothly, it does so with the odd stutter and a drastically reduced level of visual fidelity. Its Tenet-style time-warping puzzles seem to tax the chip into a Low settings state, or else the developer simply hasn’t properly optimised the game for this less mainstream silicon. Unless you’re an out-and-out power user or a total media hound (and if you are then this probably isn’t the phone for you anyway), you’ll get through two full days of use in between charges. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has a 5,020mAh battery. That would be considered pretty huge in a top-end phone with a 4K 120Hz display, let alone in a budget phone with much less demanding hardware.

Calls to 05, 08 and 07 special numbers including calls and texts to Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man landline or mobiles However, size isn’t everything when it comes to battery life; software smarts are also necessary if you want decent stamina. Nevertheless, it counts plenty. And the result is that this is a proper two-day phone.Another important factor to consider is longevity. When you buy a high-quality XIAOMI Redmi 9AT, you’re making an investment that is likely to last longer. Cheaper products may seem like a good deal at the time, but they are often made with lower-quality materials and are not designed to last as long. This means that you may end up having to replace your device sooner, which can end up costing you more in the long run. So far, there hasn’t been much for rivals to worry about. However, an area where Motorola and Realme might start to sweat is the Redmi Note 9T’s performance. A total of 4GB of RAM and a choice of either 64GB or 128GB of storage is a pretty standard arrangement for a budget phone these days but the Redmi Note 9T really sets itself apart with its processor. Xiaomi has eschewed the use of an in-display fingerprint sensor with the Redmi Note 9, which is a clear money-saving measure. That’s not necessarily a bad thing in our book, as in-display technology remains a beat slower than equivalent stand-alone sensors. Firstly, high-quality gadgets and technology products tend to be more reliable. This means that they are less likely to break down or malfunction. When you’re relying on a product for an important task, such as work or communication, reliability is key. Investing in a high-quality XIAOMI Redmi 9AT can give you peace of mind and help you avoid frustrating situations where your device fails you. Change your airtime tariff after 30 days and then once every billing month during your minimum contract period, choosing from a selected family of tariffs. Some tariff extras are only available on the starting tariff, are not transferable, and may be lost if you change to an ineligible tariff. Devices are subject to availability.

The 13MP AI Camera recognises scenes and then automatically changes the settings, so you can capture the perfect photo every single time; the phase detection auto focus ensures that you have a natural and smooth “bokeh” effect to your portrait photos. Sadly, the Redmi Note 9T doesn’t have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, its fingerprint reader resides in the power button, which is sensibly positioned on the right side of the phone.

Make the most of the powerful processor

A firm favourite from the Redmi range, the 9AT boasts a 6.53” HD+ LCD Display - certified by TUV Rheinland - great for curious minds thanks to a dedicated reading mode. My only major complaint is on the software side of things. The Redmi Note 9T’s camera app is unnecessarily complicated, with certain shooting modes hidden away and difficult to find. The macro, burst and tilt-shift modes, for instance, aren’t found in the “more” section (with the 48MP, night and panorama modes); instead, they’re located in the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of the screen. It’s important to note that when shopping for gadgets and technology products, it can be tempting to go for the lowest price possible. However, be wary of retailers that offer prices that seem too good to be true. Some less reputable retailers may sell counterfeit or low-quality products, which can be dangerous and not perform as well as the genuine product.
