c. Not having a manual mode and always having to work with preset settings is quite annoying. Again, my slightly 'dumber' Canon SD790 or the older SD660 had a sort of manual mode that gives more flexibility.Interestingly, the Nikon S3500's lens is also just a little brighter across the zoom range, with maximum apertures starting from f/3.4 at wide angle, and falling to a rather dim f/6.4 at the now-stronger telephoto. (The S3300, by contrast, provided an f/3.5 to f/6.5 range.) g. I honestly don't like the preset scenes and would prefer a simpler way of just taking pictures with auto focus. There is a tendency of over compensating, with excess light (over exposures) and color balance. The camera needs an SD card with a speed rating of 6 or higher to shorten the time it takes for the camera to move the image file to the SD card. Ditto for movies, which are quite good. This will speed up the "shot-to-shot" time that has been noted as an issue. I use a card with a speed rating of 10. Digital Filters - The S3500 has a good range of filters to use to help take more creative pictures, with a number of examples above.

The Nikon Coolpix S3500 does get a little vignetting at the corners of the frame and the flash has been designed to replicate natural light, just a more stable version of it. This means that the vignetting seen without flash is also present when it fires. However, it disperses when the lens is zoomed in. b. Again, focus issue - sometimes in the middle of a series of shots, it just seems to get lost. The shutter will need to be kept pressed for a few seconds and released, before it responds and focusses again. Camera Strap, Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL19 (with battery case), Charging AC Adapter EH-70P, USB Cable UC-E6, ViewNX 2 CD-ROM, Reference Manual (CD-ROM) The S3500 takes a lithium ion battery and this is included in the box along with the charger and any necessary cables to plug it in and get pictures to a computer. Of course, you may have an Eye-Fi memory card and if you do, the S3500 is wireless transfer capable as long as you have one of these cards. It works by detecting a free wi-fi hotspot. Once there, it uploads pictures to a location of your choice.Learning when and how to use the few automatic focus options before taking important pictures is essential. This camera (like any other camera) focuses sharply once the photographer understands how and when to use the various options.
