About this deal

The most detectable flavor in this brew is malt. The maltiness is slightly overpowering, although not in a bad way. There’s also a bread-like flavor as well as balanced floral hop notes. You can also make out the corn flavor, a slight citrus flavor that seems to be lemon, and an earthy flavor that appears to be dry grass.

This pale lager is brewed by Kompania Piwowarska shepherded by Asahi. It’s the same group that produces Żubr and Tyskie. But Lech is a sub-brand with its own premises – Lech Browary Wielkopolski. The beer has varying potency depending on which market it’s intended for. The American variant has an ABV of 4.9% but other country versions hit 5.2%. This Polish bison beer – which was previously named Dojlidy Beer – has an ABV of 6%. It was first brewed in 1768 and changed its name when the brewery rebranded. It has a younger sibling – Prażubr (steppe bison) – which is unpasteurized and has a lower 5%ABV. In the 1950s, the label was altered to draw the attention of American Polonia (Polish diaspora in the US), with references to folklore and regional traditions. This European pale lager is one of those light beers that have been in existence for a very long time. Zywiec Brewery was started in 1856 by Archduke Albrecht Friedrich in the peaceful town of Zywiec, Poland. There’s also a herbal, earthy scent that brings to mind straw or grass. You can also sniff out an alcoholic scent that reminds you that the beer contains a whopping 5.6 percent alcohol content. The smell isn’t bad, although it doesn’t quite match the expectation you’d get from its appearance.
