The Series 7 comes with a magnetic charger that recharges the battery in 3 hours, compared to the standard Oral-B charger supplied with the Series 6 which takes up to 12 hours. When using the app, the built-in 30-second pacing alerts are turned off. This is partly because the app has an on-screen timer you can follow instead. The Series 5 comes with a refill holder that holds and protects 2 brush heads. The iO6 does not come with this. The iO3 and 4 are the main exceptions though. No case comes supplied with the standard model. But there are variants where this is supplied.Like the Genius X, the iO comes with an LED light ring at the top of the handle the color of which you can customize using the built-in screen. While this is not a touch screen, so it isn’t as useful as the one built into the Oclean X Pro that we tested, this screen does offer some nice features. The Series 9 has 7 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense, whitening, gum care & tongue clean) compared to the 5 of the Series 7 (daily clean, sensitive, intense, whitening & gum care). The extra modes the iO9 has are super sensitive and tongue clean. We were enormously impressed by the performance of the Oral-B iO Series 9, and the Series 6 is basically identical, from first impressions to final testing. The iO3 is the main exception though. No case comes supplied with the standard model. But there are variants where this is supplied.In addition, the iO series brush heads have an angled base. This means that you cannot take the brush head off and stand it upright, as you can with every other brush head we tested. Instead, you have to store them in the special stand that you get with the brush. This is a nice accessory, but why they angled the base of the brush heads makes no sense to us. It seems like a purely aesthetic feature that has no practical application. They are very similar to the array of existing Oral-B heads. Aside from compatibility, the most notable difference is the small round head is now a bit larger. As a rough guide, about 10% deeper. You can also change modes while brushing by pushing the button. This is a nice feature that was not available on the Genius X. However, you would have to take the brush out of your mouth to see the screen to know for sure which mode you have switched to. So if you want to do a little gum care at the end of a session, you can memorize how many times to push the button (3 times) and switch without looking. This isn’t a major issue for the vast majority of users. I wouldn’t say it’s a reason to avoid it, particularly as the Series 9 has a magnetic fast charger capable of topping the battery up in just 3 hours. If you are a frequent traveler it is something to bear in mind.
To my knowledge, all brushes have the same battery. All are claimed to last 2 weeks on a single charge. There is no unsightly protuberance on this stand, just a slight convex zone in the center that aligns with the concave base of the iO7’s handle. The actual selling prices vary from one retailer to another. But the app and brush don’t provide alerts at 20-second intervals for sextant pacing. There are no prompts for when to switch zones. You have to decide yourself when to move the brush around. The best pressure sensor on a toothbrush today Aside from all the bells and whistles the iO 7 advertises, we were most excited to see if it could do the one job an electric toothbrush should be able to do and that is to clean your teeth. The iO6-10 does allow the colour to be changed via the in-handle display.
