About this deal

In the summer of 2007, King Charles III declared The English Distillery officially open. The dram-loving monarch even took ownership of a few of the maturing casks, making the Norfolk-based distillery one of his preferred English whisky producers. The whisky is housed in a Dartington Crystal decanter, tinted in a deep sapphire blue hue, reminiscent of the precious stones set within the Imperial State Crown. In keeping with Royal Salute’s signature style, the decanter is presented in a wooden box inspired by the iconic Westminster Abbey, with details intricately chiselled into the wood, paying tribute to the historic setting of British Coronation ceremonies since 1066. Inspired by gin-making principles, First Light boasts flavours of dry juniper, citrus and ginger while the brand’s Midnight Sun serve offers notes of coastal berries, fresh pine and kelp.

On the nose, Whitley Neill Original is perfumey, fresh and classical, with big floral notes, juniper pine-iness and berry fruit, along with rose petals. There’s an air of potpourri to these proceedings—it’s a very aromatic gin that really trends toward the floral end of the spectrum. It is said King Charles likes a Martini every night before dinner, however his exact preference for how it is served is unknown. We might assume, however, that he might opt for a gin he has an affinity with, such as Hepple Gin. In 2018, Hepple welcomed King Charles III to its estate in Northumbria where he planted his own juniper tree. The beer continues the brewery’s tradition of creating limited edition ales to celebrate Royal occasions. It joins a distinguished lineage including Celebration Ale which marked Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and most recently, Royal Salute, which commemorated the Diamond and Platinum Jubilees in 2012 and 2022. The gin is distilled by Johnny Neill, a descendant of Thomas Greenall, in an antique copper pot still. [4]Independent Scotch whisky distillery GlenAllachie has revealed a trio of limited-edition single malts joining its Virgin Oak Series. English wine producer Chapel Down has announced the release of a limited-edition English sparkling wine to commemorate the coronation with all profits being donated to the Royal British Legion. The Royal Pie comprises roasted wild mushroom, spinach and butternut squash with wild mushroom sauce, and features a special hand crafted royal crest on its puff pastry lid.

The new serve is the official beer of RSDUK 2023, which sees hundreds of independent record shops across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture.Salford’s Four Sis4ers Distillery has launched a limited edition fruit-waste strawberry gin to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, called Wonky Windsor. This pink gin is made with the fruits of ‘wonky’ British strawberries. It has been distilled in the distillery’s Arnold Holstein copper still, and inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and passion for sustainability. The team at the artisan spirit producer in Stratford-upon-Avon has crafted a completely new dry gin that has taken inspiration from the gin and dubonnet beloved by the late Queen and Queen Mother. The recipe is a combination of flavours of orange and currants with the warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, rosemary, coriander, and angelica. The resulting juniper-led gin is said to have a fruity and robust finish. The term “virgin oak” refers to wood that has not previously been used to age any other wine or spirit, meaning the only influence on the whisky is the oak alone, with the brand setting out to explore the impact of oak on flavour and development during the maturation process through these serves. The brand was launched in 2005 and acquired by Halewood Wines & Spirits in 2009. [3] Distillation and Products [ edit ]

To create the triad of new whiskies, the spirit was first matured in American Oak (Quercus Alba) ex-Bourbon Barrels before undergoing a finishing period of approximately 18 months in the different oak varieties.
