With a three-hour battery runtime, you’ll get more than enough time to get the job(s) done. Almost all modern electric shavers are pretty easy to clean manually if you can rinse them with water.

Apart from the blades becoming dull, there’s another aspect that’s specific to electric shavers: the wear and stress induced to the metal. I would like to point out that the Series 9 is also better when used on longer facial hair, especially if your whiskers tend to lie flat on the skin and grow in different directions. The foils come with the Andis branded plastic frame as well, so the whole foil assembly will be replaced. The comfort of the shave suffers. This happens because you’re forced to use more strokes, apply more pressure, while the shaving head of your razor can get increasingly hot. Completing your shave will also take longer and cause the shaving head to become even hotter. As my hair began to disappear, I do have to say that my head felt incrediblysmooth. Like, baby smooth. Even with the Skull Shaver, I don’t think my head felt as smooth as it did post-shave.

My advice would be to try and get a good deal on either an older generation Series 5 (like 5030s, 5040s, 5045s — doesn’t really matter as they all shave the same, just get the cheapest one) or a solo Series 8 (with no cleaning station), like the 8330s or 8413s. All Panasonic razors are waterproof and also perform outstandingly when used with shaving cream; so if wet shaving is your thing, you won’t be disappointed with the ES-LV65-S. There's also an upgrade to the shaver's body, with the TS-2 having a soft-grip surface for a more secure, comfortable feel, integrated into its well-balanced, ergonomic casing. Couple that with its compact shape and light weight (140 grams) and you've got a shaver that won't tire out your hand however many fades and shaves you do. Some foil electric shavers have difficulties when shaving a longer beard and you will need to work harder to capture all the hairs, especially if they grow in different directions.

But it’s all downhill from there as the blades and foils will begin to wear and will eventually need to be replaced with new ones.You can either opt for a corded or cordless foil shaver. However, most of these tools are cordless nowadays. Secondly, I got significantly better results, both with regards to closeness and the time it took me to complete my shave when using the Andis ProFoil on short hair.

There are of course men who prefer rotary razors and actually get better results using them and that’s perfectly fine as well.With your average bald head shaver, the thought of shaving is almost effortless. You simply go around in circles and hope for the best. And traditionally, you get the best, too. With this shaver, I found myself thinking a ton more. I wasn’t operating as a carefree dude shaving his head in his bathroom, I was operating as if I was working. Both use two staggered foil cutters, both are similar in terms of design and functionality, both work corded and cordless and the performance will also be quite similar. Buying new parts is no fun, but regularly changing the blades and foils of your electric shaver is a necessity. Locally the Wahl sells for €120, the Andis for €140, and the BabYlissPro for €150. A bit weird pricing, paying premium price for those two with plastic bodies. Would be fun if you could get your hands on theat BabYlissPro and see what you think about it. What are these type of foil shavers called ? They are not exaclty similar in design to Braun, Panasonic etc. They are similar to the design of the more simple “travellers” electric shavers, but there must be a better name. Reply
