Why? Battery life. The Samsung Galaxy M31 has a huge 6,000mAh battery that will keep plodding along happily long after the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has run out of power. From browsing and gaming to watching videos and social media, the Galaxy S21 and its Exynos 2100 processor can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Like the display, the performance is good enough that you won’t find yourself wishing you’d spent the extra money for that little bit more RAM or a Snapdragon 888 processor – you don’t need better than the S21.

Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Samsung Galaxy M31 is 19.5:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online.. The Samsung Galaxy M range of smartphones are mid-range devices that offer really solid features for an affordable price. With a large 6.4-inch screen, the Galaxy M31 offers an undeniably immersive display experience. The Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixel resolution is ideal for video viewing and gaming. With a simple yet elegant design, the M31 also features a fingerprint scanner on the rear. Solid Technical Performance The phone runs on One UI 2.1 on top of Android 10 OS and apart from the bloatware that comes preinstalled, the UI is smooth. Though it is a slightly stripped-down version of the One UI found on Samsung flagships and this misses quite a few features. That said, with the Exynos 9611 the UI performance is smooth and I did not experience any unwanted lag or stutters during the day to day usage as compared to some Samsung devices that I used last year. Battery On the rear, Samsung has gone for a minimalist design, which is something that I liked given the heavy-duty stuff that's par for the course these days. All you have is the quad-camera setup and LED flash housed in a rectangular camera module and the Samsung branding. Inside the Samsung Galaxy M31, you’ll find one of Samsung’s homebrew Exynos 9611 chipsets, a generous 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD. We’ve already seen this processor make an appearance in the Galaxy A51, as well as the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and Android feels every bit as responsive in operation here, as it did on those devices.Samsung also resisted its usual urge to make its cheaper phones a little too expensive to realistically compete with other brands. The Galaxy M31 is a good deal. Various connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy M31 include WiFi - Yes Wi-Fi 802.11, ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, Wi-Fi Direct, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth - Yes v5.0, and 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G. Also, the handset is a treat to use as the sensors on the Samsung Galaxy M31 include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope. If you enjoy a spot of mobile gaming on your lunch break, then the M31 should have you covered with most titles – just don’t expect to run Fortnite on it anytime soon. As the launcher incessantly pointed out, the Galaxy M31 is not one of the phones currently optimised to play Fornite, and diving into the game revealed a choppy, barely playable mess. Surprisingly however, the M31 had no trouble running online matches in Call of Duty: Mobile, and smaller titles like Alto’s Odyssey performed well. Battery life – an absolute beast For instance, there’s very little bloatware with the exception of Samsung’s own variety of apps which tend to have their uses, although why I’d ever need to use the Galaxy Store when Google’s App Store is right there, is beyond me.

The Galaxy M31 proves that having a multi-day battery life doesn’t cost the Earth, and if you were planning on using the M31 as your main media device of choice, this unbelievable battery life paired with the phone’s AMOLED screen makes for a match-made in heaven. You could binge content for hours on this thing. Of course, even with that high-end FHD+ resolution, there’s no getting around the fact that if you want to dive into the full-screen experience, you’re going to have to deal with the notch cutting into the action. Granted, it’s minuscule compared to the likes of Apple’s now seriously outdated shelf, but it’s still there. S-series flagships rule Samsung’s phone line-up for the first half of any given year. But when it gets towards the end of summer, you know you need to wait to see what the Note range has in store. Samsung could’ve gone for an in-display fingerprint sensor on this phone since most competitors in this price range sport one, however, the side-mounted physical fingerprint sensor is a better idea and we will talk about it later on in the review. There is support for Widevine L1, hence streaming high definition content over the internet is not an issue on this phone. PerformanceHaving gotten accustomed to using the Pixel 3a XL’s streamlined and near flawless version of Android 10. Samsung’s custom skin feels very clunky, even if it’s not the worst out there. The noticeable yet random lag in the camera app was also a tad disturbing. There were quite a few instances when the camera captured the image a fraction of a second later, which is often what differentiates between a good shot and a great one. The perfect bird formation or your pet's expression could just pass by without getting framed.

Galaxy M31 sports a 64MP quad-camera setup, capturing stunning pictures with depth, detail and definition. The device features an 8MP Ultra-Wide lens along with 123-degree field of view allowing users to capture the world as they see it. It also has a dedicated 5MP Macro Lens for close-up shots of objects that you love and a 5MP depth lens for amazing portrait shots with live focus. This Samsung phone is powerful to the core as it lets you enjoy a breezy-smooth performance while accessing multiple apps since it is powered with Octa core (2.3 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A73 + 1.7 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 9611. Moreover, the phone comes with 6 GB, 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage so that you can store all your songs, videos, games, pictures and other stuff without worrying about space constraints.

Galaxy M31 is just as capable when it comes to video, with 4K video recording, hyperlapse, slow-mo and super-steady modes. In addition, it has a dedicated Night Mode for stunning low light photography. The 32MP front camera also supports 4k video recording and slow-mo selfies. It’s great to see Samsung bring some of its top-of-the-line features and design down to a more reasonable price with the A52 5G and the 120Hz OLED display is a standout. 120Hz may be common ground at budget pricing for some rivals, like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and more, but this high refresh rate is rarely paired with such a vivid display. While the performance of the A52 5G does fall short of phones from Realme, Xiaomi and Google at this price point, avid mobile Netflix and YouTube watchers should definitely consider this phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra took all the key appeals of the earlier S20 Ultra, refined some of them and added the series’s signature S-Pen. This ultra-slim stylus is smarter than ever. Bands: TD-LTE 2600(band 38) / 2300(band 40) / 2500(band 41) FD-LTE 2100(band 1) / 1800(band 3) / 2600(band 7) / 900(band 8) / 700(band 28) / 1900(band 2) / 1700(band 4) / 850(band 5) / 700(band 13) / 700(band 17) / 800(band 20) / 850(band 26)3G Bands: UMTS 1900 / 2100 / 850 / 900 MHz 2G Bands: GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz GPRS:Available EDGE:Available The mobile paves the way for crystal clear visuals as it comes with a 6.4 inches (16.21 cm) display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.. Camera performance is typical of a cheaper phone. Day photos can look great, night photos are not quite so hot, but the Samsung Galaxy M31 does have a Night mode to brighten them up significantly. And while the eye-opening 64-megapixel main camera resolution does not come with many real-world benefits, the 32-megapixel front camera is among the best you’ll find at the price. What does this mean for real-world battery life? Well, you should comfortably hit two days of use on a single charge, with perhaps a little bit of wiggle room on day three, too. On a personal note, I accidentally left it switched on in my desk drawer for an entire weekend, and it only dropped 2% of its total charge (without a SIM card inside). Samsung Galaxy M31 review: Cameras Performance overall is not the highlight of the phone. Samsung has for some odd reason persisted with Exynos 9611 SoC. This is the same chipset that powered various other Samsung devices in the budget and mid-budget segment including the M31. We had expected some extra punch in the device given that it's an upgraded one. However, it must be said that the experience was way better compared to the Galaxy A50 that I tested last year even though both devices had similar chipsets and price.
