The Frontier Plus Flashing Kit is designed and produced for use with the Frontier Plus Stove to be installed in any fire retardant canvas shelter or for fixing into the roof of your shed, chalets and similar structures. If you're interested in the Frontier Plus, go for the Frontier Plus Tipi Bundle. If you've already got your stove and you'd like to put together everything you'll need yourself, here's what's included: If you're fitting a Frontier Stove, the kit needed is exactly the same, although you'll go for the Frontier Tipi Sleeve and an extra section of Frontier Stove flue instead. Frontier stove Four one-pot camping recipes to make on an Anevay Frontier stove

Spark Arrestor: CanvasCamp includes a spark arrestor with every Frontier Stove. The spark arrestor is the top most section of flue with a covered top and small holes running around it to allow smoke to escape while preventing larger prices of burning ash and coals from flying out of the flue pipe and damaging your tent or sparking a fire. The spark arrestor needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent residue from building up and restricting airflow. Certain types of wood create more creosote than others, so this is a safety feature that needs to be inspected frequently. The Spark arrestor has three attachment points for guy lines that add stability to your stove set up. There’s no match for the look and feel of a wood-burning stove. Whether you’re looking for a traditional design or something with modern flair, Frontier Fireplace has the perfect wood-burning fireplace or stove to warm your home during cold months and add a level of elegant style year round. NB: Wild Stoves recommend the use of a Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitor alarm when using the Frontier Stove in an enclosed space. The 'bigger brother' to the cult favourite Frontier Stove, the original portable wood burning stove, the Frontier Plus has a whole host of upgraded features that make using it and cooking on it easy, fun and efficient. Perfect for hardened adventurers and those who've never used a stove before, the Frontier Plus makes any camping or outdoor adventure a whole lot more fun. Combine the flour, salt, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a 24-ounce jam jar or container with a tight-fitting lid. The silicone collar is suitable for temperatures of up to 300 degrees, however it is still best to have this as high up in the shelter as possible, making it as far away from the stove as possible. A minimum distance of 800mm is required. Frontier Stove versus Frontier Plus Portable woodburning stove for tents, tipis and cabins. Or outside for toasty, efficient outdoor cooking and heating.

The Frontier Stove. A portable log burning stove

Two of the most popular tents we see being used are tipis and bell tents, both of which have seen a real resurgence over the last few years. They were used by both Native Americans and the Sami people in Northern Scandinavia, both nomadic peoples who needed to be able to assemble, disassemble and move their homes when they moved on. They were constructed from animal skins or canvas stretched around wooden poles or saplings that leaned against each other in a conical shape, with a hole at the top so a fire could be lit inside. Smoke flaps in the material of the tipi allowed for a good draw, pulling the smoke from the fire up and out of the tent - although we definitely recommend using a stove if you're lighting a fire in your tipi! The Frontier stove is both long-lasting and durable. However, at high temperatures most of our stoves – even those made from stainless steel – show discolouration and light rust when used outside where there is exposure to damp. The Frontier Plus will show signs of rusting after use, but this will not affect its performance or durability. The cooking surface is particularly susceptible to this where pots and kettles scratch the paint finish. You can always touch up the stove if necessary. This Blog explains more about looking after your stove in the British climate. Safety and disclaimer For systems with single skin flue only, leave at least 100cm between the top of the stove and the flashing kit to ensure the life span of the flashing kit. Delivery time from dispatch to Europe is usually 2 – 5 days, with a slightly longer lead time on our small space stoves.

You can use a kettle on the stoves, but using the water heater means that more of the top plate is free for your other pots and pans. The Frontier Stove is designed to just burn wood - we recommend using our eco fuel (compressed sawdust). Burning coal in the Frontier Stove can cause it to warp. Using unseasoned or chemically-treated timber can cause buildup in the flue resulting in problems with smoke. A great type of fuel is compressed wood logs (make sure they are good quality, made from untreated wood offcuts). This type of fuel is very cheap, easy to get hold of and burns very cleanly. Love this stove! Its a firm favourite with our friends when we take it out in the evening while camping. Its perfect to sit around and stay warm while the smoke blows out of the chimney way over your head! No smelling of smoke or smoke in your face! Put your kettle on the stove for a continuous pot of hot water. Highly recommended! Camp food is a thing of joy, cooking over a fire after a day spent in the great outdoors makes everything taste amazing. x flue sections that store inside the stove body for transport, and including base section with rotating baffle. Each flue section is 60mm diameter x 450mm long.

The Traveller Stove is great for camping trips where you’re setting up a base camp – it is quite heavy (29kg) so best suited for car or campervan camping. With the bigger 4-inch flue, it’s suitable for everyday use. If you are placing your stove in a tent, shed, yurt or other structure you will need enough flue sections to exit where you have placed the flashing kit. If you measure from the top of the body of the stove to where you have placed your flashing kit this will tell you how much flue sections you will need. You will need enough to cover this measurement and another 60cm of protrusion out of the roof / ceiling on top of that. Flue Damper: The flue pipe section closest to the firebox has an integrated damper to adjust the air flow exiting the stove. Close the damper for a slower burn, open it to turn up the heat for a faster burn or to get your fire started. Some good options are the Robens Kiowa, Cherokee and Mohawk tents, which are all different sizes of a portable tipi tent. They come with guy ropes, lots of standing space inside, and have a stovepipe port for the flue to fit through, meaning you don't have to cut a hole in your tent.Is an award-winning blog edited by Siân Anna Lewis, a travel journalist obsessed with outdoor adventure.

Smoke emitting from the stove can be caused by a number of reasons; most often it’s because the flue has become clogged up. If you think this is the case, wait until the stove has cooled and pull the flue sections apart. If it looks like there’s a lot of buildup, clear it out with a wire brush or metal rod. If you're trying to decide which stove to choose, or you'd just like to know more about the differences between the Frontier Stove and the Frontier Plus, read on.

Make sure you are not overloading the stove with fuel; if there is not enough airflow in the firebox the fuel will not be able to burn efficiently and cleanly, and this can lead to smoke building up in the chamber which will billow out when you open the door. In yet another 16-ounce jar or container, combine the milk and egg yolks (you'll add the butter to this jar later, once you've melted it over the campfire). Store all three jars in a cooler until ready to cook.
