I may be the bastard prince, but I still have power.” but thats not a bad thing because my enjoyment came from the rest of the story. fantasy romances are my guilty pleasure and this definitely hit the spot. its not the most well-written, the characters are pretty generic, and the plot predictable. but thats exactly what i want from these kind of stories. something where i can turn my brain off and just enjoy an angsty bond between two characters who think they are enemies. lol. There were elements of FBAA, Red Queen and ACOTAR in this book which is why I was able to decipher the clues and find out the truth long before it was revealed but that doesn't mean it is a copy nor straight idea stealing but rather the formula that works for fantasy books and what readers tend to love to read about, it's filled with angst and a forbidden feeling. We were given a few details about the world & the magic, but I wish they will more developed in the future because I'm interested in finding more about this world.
