When I was 9 or 10 I played MM2 for the first time and I thought it was the best game ever. Since Nintendo games were made by Japanese, I thought Japanese music must be as cool as the music in Mega Man 2. After Mega Man 2 cemented the series formula, Mega Man 3 marked the beginning of iteration on that formula, infusing it with new ideas and concepts that would have a big effect on the games to follow.
