[24] Doctor Aphra (2020–present) [ edit ] Of all the characters I've created for other people's universes, she's by far the most successful one ... She's kind of fun but at the same time, there's a really dark heart to her ... All those weird kind of contradictions to her, I think they're quite appealing. At the same time, she's got a very core thing people can get. She's quite complicated and not complicated at all. With Luke or Leia, they've got that core archetype you get, you get what they're like. You get that with Aphra but at the same time, there's an underlying ... all this weird, twisted stuff in there that kind of gets under people's skin." [7]

She studied to be an archaeologist, but what’s the point in finding treasure if you don’t sell it for a profit? This anti-Indy rogue fends for herself as she seeks out the rarest artifacts and meets one-of-a-kind characters along the way. Most of them want to capture or assassinate her, but that’s all part of the fun! If you’re only interested in receiving the newest games this is the box for you; guaranteeing only the latest games! Even if you prefer the Legends Universe, this series is worth getting into. And as Omar in the Near Mint Condition channel says, "If you like the story, if you can Identify with the characters, and you can find enjoyment in the book. Does it really matter if it's not canon? As long as it's canon to you." So I urge any old die-hard Legends fans to give this run a try, even if comics aren't your thing. I promise you'll both enjoy the series and curse it. It has a roguish charm to it. Aphra ... was designed to be Darth Vader's foil ... she has to do a lot of the talking when Darth Vader doesn't. Darth Vader will not make jokes. To be even a fun book to read, you need her to lighten it. But when you introduce her as a lead, that kind of changes the dynamic entirely. A) she becomes slightly more serious, and B) everyone else around her becomes a lot more deadly. [4]

Meet the galaxy’s most daring rogue archaeologist as she dances between the dark side and the light! Doctor Chelli Aphra’s unique skills made her of interest to none other than Darth Vader — but things went sour, and now she’s trying to keep a low profile. But as Aphra’s archaeological escapades get more dangerous, she soon finds herself in over her head. Will a growing romance with a strict Imperial officer redeem her or destroy them both? Adventure, excitement and terror await! Prostě co říct, perfektní koupě a doporučil bych všem co se dívají po Star Wars, na tomhle je krásný Jak si to vytváří vlastní svět protože to stojí na rozdíl od ostatních řad mimo filmy. STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA OMNIBUS VOL. 1 [NEW PRINTING]

All in all, this omnibus reminds us that in times of war and oppression, we all have different roles that we fill. Whether some are a part of the problem, actively fighting against it or standing on the side lines, everyone has a role. Aphra’s role is a bit murky at best because she doesn’t become vulnerable with many of the characters within the story. Perhaps this is why so many people love her – she is the most relatable. During this very real life time of confusion and uprising, we have to ask ourselves – where do we fit in in the struggle for freedom? It can be hard to take on the world’s problems as an individual and I believe that is where Aphra gets it right. Does it save your life to be self-serving or is it worth the risk to sacrifice yours for the betterment of society? Aphra is a morally questionable, criminal archaeologist initially employed by Darth Vader in his efforts to replace Palpatine as leader of the Galactic Empire, who later goes into hiding from the former after betraying him to the latter and faking her death, briefly establishing a love–hate relationship with Imperial officer Magna Tolvan. Supported by droids 0-0-0 and BT-1, and later by her former partner Sana Starros, she is considered a war criminal by the Rebel Alliance. Aphra is the first original Star Wars character not from the films to lead a Marvel comic series.

STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA OMNIBUS VOL. 1 [NEW PRINTING] STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA OMNIBUS VOL. 1 [NEW PRINTING]

The issues included from the ‘Doctor Aphra’ collection failed to capture my interest until I had practically finished the collection. The stories basically amount to Aphra going around deceiving rebels and imperials for the netter portion of the novel. She also falls in love with an Imperial Commander is a ‘relationship’ I found to be completely implausible. They kiss like one time and then are in love for the rest of the book despite never having a real relationship or anything like it. Aphra also has two sadistic droids that are funny for about one issue and annoying for the next fifty issues. MARVEL COMICS November 2019 Solicitations on www.newsarama.com ( August 22, 2019) (archived from the original on December 18, 2019)STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA Relaunching in 2020 by Marston, George on Newsarama.com ( October 25, 2019) (archived from the original on October 27, 2019) Doctor Aphra is a criminal archaeologist with an expert knowledge of droid and weapons technologies, [1] [2] with a particular interest in ancient weapons and Jedi artifacts. [2] [3] She travels in a unique starship called the Ark Angel, which features a custom white-and-blue paint job. [2] StarWars.com describes Aphra as "a (mostly) morally bankrupt, in-over-her-head archaeologist" [4] with an Asian appearance. [5] Slate calls her "driven, selfish, decisive, and wildly unpredictable". [3] SyFy Wire calls the character an anti-hero who "shares the snark of Han Solo and sexual charisma of Lando Calrissian, but toes the line between right and wrong far more regularly than these two characters—and more often than not steps over it into the downright naughty." [1] IGN explains, "Aphra has all of Han's swaggery, scoundrel-y charm, but little of his noble streak." [6] Creator Kieron Gillen notes that the character's main interest is "this weird obsession she has with uncovering old stuff". [4] Spurrier states that Aphra "knows that Vader is probably not a nice person. She's aware that space fascism is not necessarily a good thing but it may be the right thing for a chaotic universe." [7] Gillen compares Aphra to Darth Vader in that fans root for both as anti-heroes, but explains that while Aphra is a "bad person in many ways", Vader is on another level as "one of the greatest villains of all time." [4] Gillen further explains, "you can root [for her], because she makes really bad life decisions and sort of rolls with them ... She doesn't like killing people. She's not like a random murderer." [4] He noted that Aphra is complex in that she is "adamantly pro- Empire" but tends not to obey its rules. [7]
