About this deal

The love for wine they have in common culminates in an annual festival, the Festa dell’Uva e del Vino, which takes place every year from the end of September to the beginning of October and attracts over 100 000 visitors to the idyllic Bardolino region. The venetian red wine Bardolino, as mostly of the Venetian wines, is the proud holder of the DOC certification. Later in the fifth century viticulture had a significant development and with the Republic of Venice it played a key role in the economy of the region. The former constitutes 35–65 percent of any Bardolino or Bardolino Classico wine, contributing structure, weight and a sour cherry aroma. Bardolino and Bardolino Superiore are Italian red wines produced along the chain of morainic hills in the province of Verona to the east of Lake Garda. The winery was family-owned until 2018 when Montresor was acquired by Cevico, a co-operative group based in Emilia Romagna, with 2 highly regarded Veneto co-ops as co-investors. In spring, the village holds the Palio del Chiaretto: a long itinerary from Cisano to Punta Cornicello, during which you can taste the Bardolino Chiaretto in both its “Classico DOC” and “Spumante DOC” version. With the mushroom risotto, with the Fegatini, with all the cheeses better if aged, with peas alone or with meat. Monte del Frà has a unique Italian history, led by our forefather, Massimo Bonomo, who in the mid twentieth century (Est.Corte Giara Bardolino DOC is a delightful Italian red wine made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. Who cares, it’s absolutely delicious – light, bright, elegant, with notes of pomegranate, grapefruit, tangerine and wet stone. Elegant and vibrant, it’s deliberately unoaked so you can expect fresh red-fruit flavours with notes of violet and white pepper. His 40-year career in the wine industry has seen him making wine for some of the most famous producers in Italy, as well as specialising in, and lecturing on, organic methods of production and, most recently, working as an international consultant to some of the most well known producers in the Veneto, Puglia and beyond. The eco-friendly viticultural practices followed at this estate are on par with some of the best estates in the world. The separate vinification of the grapes from the different wine areas is today still one of the fundamentals of the winery, giving the wines local character and high quality.
