About this deal

We reviewed this Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release on a JVC-DLA N5 Ultra HD 4K projector and a Panasonic DP-UB9000 Dolby Vision/HDR10 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player.

Cinematographer Mandy Walker reportedly shot the entire film using a combination of ARRI ALEXA 65, LF, and Panaflex System 65 cameras with custom those aforementioned colors -- vivid and muted alike -- pop out strongly but not unnaturally. In all cases, image detail is very robust, especially in A Blu-ray Disc of the film is included. This is in 1080p HD with Dolby Atmos sound. It also houses all of the bonus materials, listed a bit further below.

ability, stage presence, dramatic moments? All mostly accounted for and, when paired with the inarguably interesting life and career path of Elvis, Musical Moments – jump to the various performances in the film, 37 mins (on both the 4K and 1080p blue) Director Baz Luhrmann's Elvis is almost exactly half of a great movie; Presley's story has always been a fascinating one, and the lead All along the way, you’ll feel a very deep amount of bass in the speakers as well as strong LFE coming from the subwoofer. This sound mix is just massive and really pulls you right into the story as well as most obviously the unforgettable musical experience. This is one of the finer Dolby Atmos mixes that I’ve heard. Dare I say, this is a mix fit for a King. Luhrmann's long-time wife and frequent collaborator Catherine Martin are first rate, as are most of the musical productions and performances... as

Paramount Paramount's Senior Vice President of Asset Management (Andrea Kalas) about the the restoration of King Creole and Blue Hawaii: On Spiffying Up Elvis Presley's Blue Hawaii For The 21st Century : As expected, your audio system will come alive during the music segments which are truly memorable. Take special note around the 45-minute mark as Elvis visits Club Handy just as Little Richard is taking the stage. Included on the blu-ray disc is a handful of bonus items, including a Musical Moments piece which features all the songs and medleys from the film, all in one place. Push play and turn it up with "play all" option! Elvis together. Trailing a very distant second is Tom Hanks as "Colonel" Tom Parker, a role so fatally miscast -- which is twice as Elvis comes to town with a great 1080p HD transfer that is beautiful and crisp. The 4K with Dolby Vision option is the better one to go with, but this 1080p image does a good job. The colors pop in true Elvis fashion when he's on stage. His pink suits and cars look amazing and the bright lights of Las Vegas that reign in reds, greens, purples, and everything in between look excellent. The sequences when Elvis is younger give way to a sandier image full of muted greens, blues, and browns. But once Elvis grows up and becomes popular, those colors burst with emotion.Lastly, you get over almost an hour of extras here on the Blu-ray Disc. They’re all very informative and worthwhile and I totally suggest them. However, for a film this large about an artist this significant it feels like they should maybe have included more historical footage or performances by the real Elvis Presley. But you can find all of those on DVDs and Blu-rays such as the must-see 1970 music documentary/concert film that Elvis did for MGM called “That’s the Way It Is”— which this film features plenty of recreated material and even audience footage blended in. The film begins with an aging and decrepit Parker in the hospital going on and on about how wrong people are to blame him for Elvis’s death. After all, he’s the guy who discovered the greatest carnival show on Earth. He asserts, “without me, there would be no Elvis Presley.” While that’s probably true, we can’t help but wonder what Elvis might have become had the Colonel been a bit more hands off. We get a pretty good idea as the story plays out. Elvis” [2022] was one very unique biopic that managed to tell the story of Elvis Presley and his crooked manager in a different way than we had ever experienced in the past. Director, producer, and co-writer Baz Luhrmann has truthfully put together a great film here and star Austin Butler surely “gave it his all” playing Elvis as did even Tom Hanks, playing his less than likable manager [ “Colonel Tom Parker”] in the film.

moments without necessarily feeling overcooked, and regularly reaches into the rear and Atmos-exclusive height channels at opportune moments. My Elvis comes to home video with a fantastic 2160p UHD 4K transfer with Dolby Vision. The film was made with a variety of cameras that included a customized lens specifically for the film that gave certain sequences their unique style. The color palette is a brilliant rainbow of colors and tones. Luhrmann has never bowed down to Hollywood executives to compromise his stunning vision in telling stories everyone knows by heart, whether it be his own version of Romeo + Juliet, a take on Moulin Rogue!, or a highly valued stylized concept of The Great Gatsby. Luhrmann knows how to set a film on fire with spectacular effects that can fully immerse his audience inside a live stage play with all the hot lights, music, and choreography to keep everyone's toes tapping. The same goes for his Elvispicture, however, Luhrmann once again takes an unconventional approach to tell this tragic tale of Elvis's life and career. With an out-of-the-world performance from Butler and a weird, yet underwhelming role for Tom Hanks, the pacing and the film's length hinder it from being completely enjoyable. But kudos to Luhrmann for doing something creative and original with this biopic that nobody saw coming - telling the hero's story from the villain's eye line. dot Elvis' third act in Las Vegas. It's a frequently over-the-top yet carefully reigned-in sonic experience, one that captures plenty of impressiveThat all being said, I won’t tell you the whole story here in my review of Elvis Presley’s life, in fact, the film doesn’t entirely do so 100% accurately, but I will say that this film manages to do one fantastic job of telling the story [as best as possible] and is an absolute must-see film for any fan of Elvis or those curious about the man, his life, and the music he performed. Elvis is on UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as a standalone 4K release and as part of the Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary Studio Collection from 16th October 2023. counterpart, Warner Bros.' 1080p transfer still offers a very crisp and faithful representation of Elvis' specific appearance. As mentioned, Baz Luhrmann co-wrote the story itself here (with Jeremy Doner) and then collaborated with a few other writers on the screenplay. Doner is known for working as a writer on some episodes of TV shows such as “The Killing” (2001) and “Damages” (2007). Both of the other co-writers on the screenplay [Sam Bromell and Craig Pearce] have worked with Baz on past projects. Namely, Craig Pearce also co-wrote the screenplays for “Strictly Ballroom”, “Romeo + Juliet”, “Moulin Rouge!”, and “The Great Gatsby”. And Sam Bromwell had co-written numerous short films that Baz Luhrmann directed over the years.
