The Tiger Lillies is a band composed of three members. It was formed in 1989 and based in London. Its current members are Adrian Stout, Martyn Jacques (singer-songwriter), and Adrian Huge (with Phil Butcher as its past member). They are infamous for their strangely dark humor in their music, with songs involving blasphemy, prostitution and bestiality. Their dark and intense performances have gained for them critical acclaim and controversy. Pietro Deiro is remembered today as one of the most influential accordionists that ever lived. He was also brothers with Guido Deiro, who was equally a great accordionist in his own right. Throughout his life, Pietro was fully devoted to the development of the repertory for the accordion through his publishing house known as the Pietro Deiro Publications that enjoyed a massive catalog of approximately 10,000 works.

The term accordion covers a wide range of instruments, with varying components. All instruments have reed ranks of some format, apart from reedless digital accordions. Not all have switches to change registers or ranks, as some have only one treble register and one bass register. It deploys the same system as the concert accordion, with a scale of five octaves, each divided into 24 quarter tones.
