Speaking about Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka’s ambitions in the space, Gee Lilwall, Head of Marketing, said: York City FC is delighted to announce that Ellers Farm Distillery, the multi-award winning distillery based just outside Stamford Bridge in York, Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka, as a new sponsor . Our aim for Dutch Barn was simple yet profound: we want to make the best vodka in the world by being the best vodka for the world. In everything we do, we look to balance people, profit, and the planet, listening to what people are looking for in their choices and responding to them with a vodka that is not only exceptional in quality, but also has proven sustainability credentials to match”. Dutch Barn was developed by Master Distiller Jamie Baggot, who has multiple awards to his name, including winning Best-in-the-World Vodka at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Competition in 2010. Managing Director Andy Braithwaite decided to replace the existing dilapidated Dutch barn with a new one – the shape of the roof lends itself to distilling because of its height.

Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka has been created around two simple pillars: to make the world’s best vodka and do it in the most sustainable and ethical manner. We’ve been impressed by what we’ve seen so far.” The products will launch as part of Asda’s Nurture programme, which gives dedicated shelf space and support to emerging suppliers The Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka name comes from the Dutch Barn that was on the farm and has been preserved in the design of the distillery and the apple orchard being planted around the Ellers Farm Distillery. The distillery itself aims to set the standard for sustainability in the drinks industry by balancing people, profit, and the planet from day one, having already secured Pending B Corp® status. The distillery wanted high recycled content in its bottles to cut down on the use of raw materials, and amber glass is known to offer protection to the contents. Beatson Clark’s amber glass is made of over 60% recycled materials.

Frozen products will also be available from 14 th April, with vegan options across a range of pizzas and pies, as well as meat-free burgers, meatballs, bacon and sausages.
