About this deal

The songs here are straightforward and will hit you with it's "main" riff within the first 30 seconds. Speaking of riffs, this album has them. If you are into breakdowns, this album is essentially going to be heaven for you. With very few guitar leads on this record, the riffs are the main focus. The guitar tone is fairly good, and should please fans of crisp and crunchy musical production.

HATEBREED's agenda, since day one, has seemingly been to clobber listeners senselessly with their music. Bands with this mindset can understandably have an abundance of energy when they come together in garages as 18-year-olds, but the challenge for long-running bands of this ilk is retaining their ongoing relevance and potency. Sure, the band has broadened its horizons since its inception, but it's HATEBREED. Not known for its dynamics, the band has developed a formula and maintained course all the way through studio release number seven: "The Concrete Confessional". The group's tenacity is admirable; yet it remains as inconsistent as it has been for the better part of the last 10 years. Believe it or not, there is an iota of experimentalism in “The Concrete Confessional”. Jamey Jasta seems to be telling us this album is not a duplicate of “The Divinity of Purpose” nor any other album. He adopts an unexpectedly melodic voice half way through ‘Something’s Off’ which is a welcome element amongst the unimaginative gang vocals of “OFF, OFF, OFF”. In contrast, he deepens his voice in ‘From Grace We’ve Fallen’ to emphasise the frustration behind the theme of moral decay.Offiziellecharts.de – Hatebreed – The Concrete Confessional" (in German). GfK Entertainment Charts. Retrieved May 21, 2016. The Concrete Confessional" is the 7th full-length studio album by US hardcore act Hatebreed. The album was released through Nuclear Blast Entertainment in May 2016. It´s the successor to "The Divinity of Purpose" from 2013 and features the same lineup as the predecessor. "The Concrete Confessional" was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris. "Zeuss" has produced every album by Hatebreed since "The Rise of Brutality (2003)". A metaphorical weight is carried by almost every individual in regards to their emotional construct. Our experiences shape who we become and over time, gradually produce a heavy burden that we continue to lug along. For many of us, the weight becomes so much that we struggle to get out from underneath, let alone move. It is these struggles that are translated throughout Weight Of The False Self.

Tours with national heavy metal bands such as Slayer, Deftones, Entombed and Napalm Death influenced their music and brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality. Jamey Jasta’s performance on “The Concrete Confessional” steals the spotlight and reveals him as one of the most forthright lyricists in modern metal. On opener ‘A.D’ he flexes between condemning higher authorities’ greed for degrading the American Dream in a way that is as blunt as a hammer. Whereas in ‘Walking the Knife’ his lyrics are more of a metaphorical sense depicting the inevitability of chaos as “lighting the candle at both ends”. So why are Hatebreed the exception? You could argue that their music has always been fairly one-dimensional throughout their 20 year career as they’ve always opted for a fast paced, zero bull*** attitude with lyrics depicting the aforementioned subjects on every one of their albums. Ironically, that is the core reason why they are excused and embraced by many. It is the reliability that you know what to expect from this band and you are assured that the messages Hatebreed convey are true and actually invigorating to listen to. The addition of these exciting support acts will make for an evening of uncompromising metal no matter the city! This is just a taste of what's to come and we're definitely going hard on this one," says frontman Jamey Jasta. "The speed, intensity, and brutality that people have come to expect from us is on full display. Can't wait to play this one live and see the pit erupt."

Retrieved May 25, 2016. Hatebreed's latest critically acclaimed album The Concrete Confessional is out now via Nuclear Blast.I wanted a big sing along for when we go to Germany or South America or wherever, like a big Misfits-y type punk song that people can sing along to. We’ve only ever had one of those in our career: a song on the self-titled album [2009] called No Halos for the Heartless. That song has kind of become like a cult favourite but we’ve never played it live, so I said “Let’s do it again, but let’s get it right this time.’ So Wayne and a couple of our friends, who we call the A-team, came in to do gang vocals and it came out great. The song itself is loosely based on a scene in the American Sniper film, and the idea that one man’s wolf is another man’s sheep. It’s like a take from both sides: how far would you go to defend your family and friends?” Hatebreed's fifth studio album, entitled Hatebreed, was released September 29, 2009. In May 2009, the band also released For the Lions, a record consisting of covers of songs by artists that have influenced the band's development. After landing the biggest song of their 25-year career, selling out shows worldwide, and finishing the victory lap of an intense three-year cycle, Nuclear Blast artist Hatebreed return with their first new single in four years with " When The Blade Drops."

The vocals took a while to grow on me, but the more I listened to the album the easier it became to like them. There are plenty of catchy hardcore choruses here (think Anthrax gang vocals). Here Jamey Jasta reminds me of Matt Drake from Evile, Tom Araya from Slayer, or at times Rob Flynn from Machine Head, just to give a few points of reference. Jamey takes on several forms, even sounding reminiscent of Max Cavalera on the chorus of "From Grace We've Fallen." While the lyrics aren't necessarily made up from the most complex ideas, they give some good food for thought. I cannot sit through a play-through of this album without headbanging, or yelling the lyrics like a fool. In this aspect particularly, the vocals succeed. On September 13, 2006, former guitarist Lou Richards committed suicide at the age of 35; he had played on 1997's Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire and left the band in 2002.
