iTrent is the workforce IT system North Lanarkshire Council uses to record and process all employee information. Employee Self Service (ESS) allows you direct access to the council’s record of your own important personal and job details. While we have made every effort to develop a user-friendly system and easy to use guides, we welcome your feedback on how we can make iTrent and the guides to iTrent on Inside Devon a better experience for you. You should always log out of ESS once you have finished using it and should never let anyone know your ESS username and password. This is where you are sent the notifications from the staff you manage for things like annual leave requests and change of personal details. Tip: Once you are logged, in you should set up a security question (‘memorable information’) so that you can reset your password if you forget it (refer to the self-service user guide).People Manager is a tool, allowing reporting managers and administrators with selected access, to manage employee leave and view sickness records online. If the information you require is not listed, you should discuss your information requirements with theHuman Resourcesteam for your College/Service (or, for University-wide reports, the Trent HR support team in Human Resources). If at any point you feel that your information security may have been compromised you should contact the University's IT department, Exeter IT, in the first instance.

Sections 3 – 6 you can access information regarding guidance for employees, managers and schools as well as links to access iTrent. How you access iTrent depends on where you work so please choose a link from the relevant heading below which explains how you log in. The HR team use e-signing software in iTrent Employee Self Service (ESS) to deliver electronic employment letters and documents to staff.If you are going to be off you can assign your work flow requests to another manager to manage in your absence. mySelf is available to all employees to use and allows you to request leave, record or manage sickness absence, input expenses and overtime (in some areas) and look for and request training opportunities.

You can access the letter in ESS by selecting ‘View Profile’ and then the ‘Employment’ tab – your letter will be in the section marked ‘My Correspondence’. It is also important that you never let anyone else know your University username and password as this information would allow people to access information such as contact details and pay details, hence exposing you to the risk of identity fraud. myTeam is the manager portal used for authorising various requests for leave, training, expenses and overtime and for managing absence.
