We have been learning all about healthy and unhealthy foods, and about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet. It is important for young students to learn that just because one part of a plant is edible, that does not mean all the other parts should be eaten. If possible, use the vegetables from the Exploration to create a plant parts salad for the students to enjoy at school, too.She has won many awards for her books, and is regularly invited to festivals including Cheltenham and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

We have enjoyed printing with vegetables and paint to create beautiful pictures, as well as scrubbing and washing vegetables in preparation to make vegetable soup. Oliver insists that he only eats chips, so his grandfather tells him to find the potatoes to make these.

He just love this book and often reading this story as this become one of his special story collection! Along the way he discovers many other types of vegetables and learns that he likes more than just French fries. Vivian French is the author of over two hundred books, including the wildly popular series Tales from the Five Kingdoms.
