Just like the larger V7 Absolute, the Trigger sports the hygienic bin system which makes emptying the reservoir simple and painless. You want a cordless vacuum cleaner with a 2-in-1 function that allows you to clean both your home and your car, for example. The conversion works perfectly well and gives you much more possibilities in use. The best solution for this is a soft roller, which is supplied with many cordless vacuum cleaners and it’s ideal for cleaning hard floors. This was proven in our test of the Dyson V10 Absolute. The battery runtime depends on the suction level and the selected attachment. With the standard electric brush in low suction mode, the V7 lasts for 30 minutes. In turbo mode, the cordless vacuum cleaner works for only 6 minutes. The Trigger sports the same Dyson V7 digital motor as the larger model, so it has incredible power for such a small unit. The battery indicator is a single light on one side of the V7’s handle (as opposed to the three-bar light found on the V8). Also on the main unit is the slider to switch suction modes – while it’s located right in front of the handheld unit, you will need your other hand to swap modes if you’re doing so in the middle of a clean. That’s the only thing you’re going to need both hands for, though, as the V7 is remarkably easy to use single-handed. Performance Dirt compartment: You can pull the release latch on top of the vacuum to open the bottom hinged door and dump out any accumulated debris without dirtying your hands. You may need to use a damp cloth to clean debris from the lint screen.

Filters: The pre-motor and post-motor filters can be pulled out of the top of the vacuum. They need cleaning with water once a month, but make sure to let them dry completely before you use them again. Sand was not a problem on hard floors. But when it came to coarse dirt like lentils and oat flakes, the V7 definitely had a harder time. The coarse dirt was only pushed around in front of the roller and some of it was even skidded around.
