By incorporating a book which children naturally love into learning activities, children can expand their knowledge and learn whilst still having fun. This is called Interest based learning or interest based play and it’s a fantastic way to help little ones to develop a love of books. Once the biscuits have cooled you can start your decorating. Normally recipes say to put the dough into the fridge as it is, but if you roll out the dough onto parchment paper before putting it into the fridge for at least 30 minutes, it makes it much easier when you take it out. For the eyebrows I cut some of the crust and placed above the carrot eyes. Using some more leftover crust, I added two ears. Next I made the horns and teeth using sliced cheese. I just cut these using a knife. I then shaped a pieces of cucumber into a small circle and placed on the nose for the poisonous wart. Finally, I rolled two raisins into balls and added them to the eyes.

Jigsaw Puzzles are very beneficial and with 9 Gruffalo story scenes to choose from this Ravensburger Puzzle set is in my opinion a brilliant resource to help little ones learn. We really enjoyed receiving this puzzle and it was fun to test out and very well illustrated. These sugar biscuits are one of my favourite recipes. I normally find sugar biscuits too sweet, but these have almond extract in which really helps counterbalance the sweetness. These make the perfect biscuits to turn into Gruffalo sugar biscuits while listening to the Gruffalo story by Tonies.
