These are the first Longmorn expressions that we have ever sampled and we have to say that we are impressed. It is easy to see why the malt from this distillery is so highly regarded amongst those in the industry and discerning whisky drinkers. The three malts in the this range are of excellent quality and all easy drinking but with plenty of character. Glencairn The Glencairn Whisky Glass is a revolutionary whisky glass that really lets you savor the taste and complexity of fine whisky. The glass is great to use for any of your ‘wee nippy sweeties’ whether it be Single Malt Whiskies, Irish Whiskies, or even single barrel bourbons. With the tapered mouth, you are able to really smell all of the nuances the whisky has to offer. Any malt advocate will love this glass! Champagne, Brandy, Wine… each has its own glass. Yet whisky, the worlds most complex spirit can be found served in anything from hiball tumblers to Paris goblets. Whiskybase B.V. is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under no. 52072819. Established in 1894 just around the time Longmorn-Glenlivet company was founded this distillery has graced the Speyside region for many years producing bold delicious flavours in its whisky. The distillery went through some expansion in 1972 and the now owners Pernod Ricard took over the distillery in 1978 as Chivas Brothers. This distillery still remains unknown to most and there is no reason why as the whisky it produces is amongst the highest quality in the world and delights the palate. The distillery produces 3,500,000 litres of whisky per annum and you should expect this whisky to give you sweetness, spices and wonderful a mouth feel with honey, apples and toffee. The Longmorn distillery was founded in 1894 by John Duff and is located about three miles south of Elgin in the Speyside region of Scotland. It is currently owned by Chivas Brothers and the malt produced there has long been used in a number of the most famous blends on the market. It is also one of the five whiskies that feature in the new Chivas Regal Ultis. The distillery has recently been expanded and now has an annual capacity of 4.5 million litres.
