It should work, but you might need to tweak the amount of flour slightly (you might need a bit less). If you give it a try, do let me know how they turn out! 🙂 Reply This is an easy mix and stir recipe (no electric mixer needed) using cocoa powder as the base. Suffering from a gluten intolerance herself and fed up with her own experiences of poor gluten free products, Laura started The Homemade Brownie Company on a mission to create a range of products that tasted every bit as good as the gluten containing competition. Laura trialled numerous recipes before starting the business and finally found one for her Classic brownie that she was happy was as good as anything else on the market. I’d recommend using half dark chocolate and half milk chocolate. When measuring your gluten-free flour, spoon your flour into your measuring cup, then level. Don't scoop then level. Arrowhead Mills has some GREAT gluten free products. They tend to be on the more affordable end, and the quality of everything we’d tried up to this point was tip-top. This was my first time buying one of their mixes. I like that their brownie mix ingredient list was very straightforward and that it has chocolate chips in the mix. Ultimately, this one lost points for running a bit too far on the cake-y side for our family’s preference. If you like cakey brownies, though, this might be just the right mix for you! (I’ll also say, the texture and flavor improved after we’d chilled them overnight. We enjoyed them more the second day than we did the first!). It’s a solid choice, and a great one if you like cakey brownies.

How do you actually make the brownies?

Baking Staples – Vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt are also included to enhance the flavor and help the brownies rise. Then, we use raw sugar or sugar substitutes as sweeteners. Mix the Dry Ingredients. In a separate medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients, whisking until they’re well incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add this to the wet ingredients. Mix until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips.

It’s a win-win situation, with a side of chocolate and even more chocolate! almond meal - also known as ground almonds. This can be bought from the baking section of any supermarket or grocer. Sift the almond flour, cocoa powder and salt into the egg-chocolate mixture, and gently fold in the dry ingredients (using a spatula) until no clumps remain. Hello there I wanted to ask if I could use oat flour instead of almond flour as I’m allergic to nuts Even if the products don’t contain nuts, they may have a ‘may contain nuts’ warning due to being produced in a factory that handles nuts.Once the chocolate and butter mixture is cooled to room temp, pour it into your egg/sugar mixture. Fold it in with a spatula - it will initially marble and then turn super chocolatey. Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease a 9×9 baking dish with cooking spray and set aside. (I like this light metal pan.) The other option, of course, is to use ground nuts instead, as in so many other flourless cakes, an approach favoured by Emma Goss-Custard’s Honeybuns cookbook, Nigella Lawson and baker Paul O’Brien, who kindly sends me the recipe they use at the Sunflour Bakery on London’s Caledonian Road. I could rival a squirrel in my passion for ground almonds, in particular, but here I think they turn the brownies into something else – something delicious, yes, but not essentially brownie-like. For me, a brownie ought to be all about the chocolate; nuts can add texture, but they shouldn’t dilute its flavour. Cut the butter into tablespoon-sized pieces. Add the butter and chocolate chips to a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir well, microwave for another 15 seconds and then stir well again.
