About this deal

There’s a surprise at the end…. you guessed it, mama bear is actually having twins! This is a fantastic book for a child who’s about to become a new big sibling to twins. Twins is no exception. Perhaps it’s exceptional because it is Johnson’s first foray into the land of graphic novels, and his collaboration with illustrator Shannon Wright is sublime.

Want advice from a twin who also has twins and happens to be a psychotherapist? Joan A. Friedman, Ph.D. has created the book for you! This was a pretty good book about two twins entering the 6th grade together. Although they are identical in appearance, the girls are pretty different. Francine is the talkative one, the social one, the outgoing one. Maureen is the more fearful one, the one who wants to stay with her sister all the time, the one who gets the best grades and the one who is the main character of the book. It’s a fast-paced story that kept me up way into the night because I really wanted to know how everything will unveil and there were quite a few moments when I had to reread certain scenes because my theories were so out of place compared to what I was reading! Lovitz interviews adult twins, their siblings, and other specialists who work with twins to help you understand what it takes to raise twins who can also function as independent people. There is another book by the same author called “The Twinniest Twins and Me” that is absolutely perfect for siblings of twins. Identical twins Margo and Cora live in London. Although they look so similar that sometimes even those closest to them mistake one for the other, they couldn’t be more different.Gallo, Meredith; Pasturel, Ciera (2 December 2019). "The best books of 2019". The Chicago Tribune . Retrieved 2 December 2019. June: "All through my schooldays I often thought and confessed I was a boy. I got strange feeling I was a boy under all my female assets. It’s as though I’d been a boy first in my life." As Margo’s supply of anxiety tablets runs out, she starts to remember fragments of how Annie died. Margo’s therapist and Cora’s ex-boyfriend also provide Margo with some clues. But can she take the truth?

Twins by Varian Johnson | Goodreads

I love it when a story has characters you don’t quite trust and this book is full of them! Everyone seemed so on edge and damaged, it was extremely unnerving and I was desperate to find out why?! While there is a lot going on during the pregnancy and infant years, it would be nice to have some guidance for the school years since they present their own challenges. Christina Tinglof offers just that. Their trial was a farce, seemed to me a "kangaroo trial" especially regarding the one-time doctor who testified on their "insanity". If you gravitate toward practical information in a format that is easy to understand, then she has written the guide for you.

Twins Margo and Cora are very different. Margo, a live in Nanny, has always been the sensible and sensitive one. Cora, a dancer, is the wild one. Not so Good Points: To be honest I have none. I know Cora was supposed to be the "bad" twin but I actually loved her. I didn't like Raff much but other than that it was a perfect thriller! If you have a twin who is advancing academically and one who is falling behind, Tinglof gives guidance on what to do to ensure both kids feel secure. Final Thoughts I don’t think I can say too much about this one without giving away too much of the plot - I went in completely blind and think you all should do as well. If you’d like trigger warnings please DM as this book does explore some serious topics ☺️

Reading Children’s literature is sometimes soooo wildly head turning and this was one didn’t disappoint. This is the extraordinary story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, identical twins born in the UK in 1963 to parents of Barbadian heritage. Their lives captivated the nation and were the inspiration behind the lyrics of Tsunami by the Manic Street Preachers. This book does a great job of explaining that being a twin isn’t about looking alike, it’s the joy of having a best friend to share life with through the years.Advice for pregnancy, birth, and the first couple of years is always important for twin parents to have. However, there are unique challenges that twins face that make it hard to parent them as they age.
