About this deal

When Rogersaw me chopping up Q-tips he looked a little hesitant, but when he came home & saw the results he admitted that it looksreally nice! First, cut off the ends of a bunch of q-tips. The amount you need will depend on the size of your wreath & your personal taste. Take one bundle, form a fan shape with the branches, and place them along a portion of the wreath form. Be careful that the bottom of the branches point inside. I can’t believe it! When Roger & I talk about it I keep accidentally saying things like “Next year, when we move…” or “when you havea job next year…” Poor thing has to correct me every five seconds. It’s so hard to believe that we have almost made it through 4 years of dental school!

To make this wreath, you begin by cutting your pussy willows into short lengths, about a foot or less in length. You want them all to be around the same size. Opt for a traditional mix of foliage with berries, holly and pinecones, or try something a little more modern, whether that means frosted leaves, on-trend dried flowers or even Christmas baubles. This wreath was really an easy project make, and turned out even nicer than I thought it would -love it when that happens. I’d say the skill level to create this low. It’s not difficult, just a little bit fiddly. This easy DIY spring wreath is a great addition to your own front door to great spring guests with the warmest welcome. This wreath will last a long time too, so you can bring it out year after year in the springtime.

Although I am trying to take as much decor as I can up to my parents house before our big move, I must confess that I did go rummaging through the attic last time we were up there for these L-O-V-E letters. I really wanted needed them for our Valentine’s decor! This DIY Pussy Willow Wreath is easy to create & looks beautiful for winter or springon a door & evenas aValentine’s decoration!

If you like, you can embellish the finished wreath with a small nest, mini eggs, and some moss. It’s a lovely spring detail and perfect addition.I used wire to attach mine, but a hot glue gun would also be a great way to add it to your own spring wreath. You might even like to add some pretty flowers. Now, take the second bundle and secure it right below the first bundle in the similar fashion. Remember to secure it in a way so that it hides the wires of the first bundle. We then placed them on an old ladder at the entrance of herwedding ceremony (you can see pictures from my sister-in-law’swedding here& here).Want more projects like this one? I’ve named her Gertrude, Gertie for short. She’s very quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn’t make a mess. All good qualities in a new neighbour. At the side I switched out the faux snow in the lanterns for the warm weather season with some moss and pinecones. Easter eggs would be a fun addition too.

And I added more pretty pansies because I love fresh flowers. The bunny is the perfect spring accessory and great idea too. Once you have coveredyour wreath with q-tips you can hang it on a door, on yourmantel, or within a letter display! The options are endless! Around the time I wrote this post about How to Prepare for a Move 6 Months to 1 Year in Advance I received special permission from my mother to start moving things into the empty attic above my childhood bedroom.

Anywho, Ihave moved this Pussy Willow Wreath & L-O-V-E letters to our mantel & am perfectly pleased with the results. I fell in love with this N-O-E-L Christmas Letters displaya few years ago& have kept the idea in my mind hoping for a chance to create something similar forourhome. I’m jumping off the wall with excitement, which is probably why it’s a good thing I’ve only been drinking decaf tea. Maybe it’s all the snow this past month, but we are more eager than ever for some signs of spring! We have seen snowdrops and crocuses pop up just recently, and can’t wait for more flowers to start blooming. Of course we also like to get ready for spring by decorating our homes for the season. And one easy way to do that is with a handmade wreath.Once you have them all cut down, divide your pile of pussy willow pieces into four groups, this will help you divide them evenly around the wreath, and not run out or have a lopsided wreath. Each pile should be enough to do a quarter section of your lovely wreath .
