After having this book sat on my shelf for almost a year now, I finally decided to pick it up and give it a read alongside listening to the audiobook.Tomorrow night at six thirty, they would be tossing her name around the newsroom while Harvey sipped from his reusable cup. Maybe then she wouldn’t hear Adrian’s words looping over and over again in the back of her head, forcing her to consider that he might be right. The characters share a sweet love, but what really killed the mood for me with this book is how unsettling I found the spice in it. Since the project hasn't officially gone past the casting phase yet, it's hard to know for sure when — and where — the movie will land for viewers to watch. My only complaint is (SPOILERS) I wish there was just once scene where Piper’s Mother and Step-father had the chance to see how far she came from the beginning of the story to the end.

As expected, the plot did follow a typical romance structure, however something about the setting and direction of the story still felt fresh. Piper Bellinger looked down at her lipstick-red, one-shoulder Valentino cocktail dress and tried to find the flaw but came up with nothing.
