About this deal

For instance, earth signs like Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn are known for their practicality and stability, making them highly compatible with each other. On the other hand, fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius crave excitement and adventure, often finding strong connections with fellow fire signs or the more adaptable air signs such as Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. According to Gary Goldschneider, the author of “ The Secret Language of Birthdays,” the day you were born plays a vital role in determining your personality traits, desires, and even your compatibility with others. This belief is also echoed in the writings of Theresa Cheung, who frequently explores the spiritual and emotional significance of our birthdates in her work. The principal challenge to all of us during this time is, of course, engaging in meaningful verbal and written dialogues with others, whether in person or over the internet or cell phone.

Those born on the 9th of the month are ruled by the number 9 and by the planet Mars. The number 9 is powerful in its influence on other numbers (any number added to 9 yields that number: e.g., 5+9=14, 4+1=5, and any number multiplied by 9 yields a 9: e.g., 9x5=45, 4+5=9), and January 9 people are similarly influential. The planet Mars is forceful and aggressive, embodying male energy, but for January 9 people its influence can be colored by Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, which here grants seriousness of purpose but also potentially manipulative tendencies. If one considers astrology to be heaven-oriented, personologyis earth-oriented. That is, the basic structure upon which personology is built is that of the year as it is lived, and as far as we know has largely been lived here on earth. The rhythms of the year are mostly determined by the changes of the seasons themselves, along with the lengthening and shortening of the days and nights. Each year these solar changes are roughly the same. We are fixed to a wheel of life here on earth, whose motion dictates (in the northern hemisphere) that beginning with the winter solstice, around December 21, the shortest day and longest night, the days will get progressively longer and the nights shorter until the vernal or spring equinox is reached around March 21, at which point day and night willbe equal. We call this season betweensolstice and equinox winter, expecting that only certain plants willgrow, that some animals willsleep or hibernate while others grow a full coat to warm them against the biting winds. As the days grow longer in spring, highly varied forms of lifebegin to emerge culminatingfinally in the heat of the summer, beginning on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, around June 21. With harvestcomes the fall and again a period of equal day and night (fall equinox, around September 23). Finally the days grow shorter, the sun no longer rises high in the sky, and the world moves inside to prepare for winter once more. Many people have long suspected, as astrologers believe, that the day you were born affects your personality. While no one knows exactly how or why, birthdays do tend to be uncannily accurate predictors of psychological tendencies. The Secret Language of Birthdays by Gary Goldschneider and Joost Effers describes in detail the characteristics and quirks of personality associated with being born on a particular day of the year.

Thus, bringing astrology, history and psychology together in concentric cycles or spirals--stressing evolutionary rather than static models for the individual--is at the heart of personology. The personality types presented under the twelve signs, forty-eight periods and three hundred and sixty-six days (including the leap year extra clay) are flexible and fluid, each evolving from one to the next, constantly in motion, constantly changing, rather than fixed in stone. This time has traditionally been a most enchanted period, during which spirits of the woodland abound and creatures of the long twilight hours frolic during their so called “midsummer night” revels. Shakespeare’s play “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and the music it inspired Mendelssohn to write both convey this magical mood. Putting our nurturing side to good use will be rewarded, particularly in personal and social endeavors where adept use of psychology can bring benefits. Our persuasive abilities flower at this time but must not be used to try to convince others to do what they really do not believe in.

In the case of those British or American subjects, like Washington, born such that the 1752 date fell in the first thirty or so years of their lives, the NS birthday is generally used, since most of them changed their birthdays and observed the new date at the time of the calendar change. Romantic figures born during this cusp include Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Kris Kristofferson, Josephine Beauharnais (Napoleon’s wife ), Aung San Suu Kyi, Benazir Bhutto and Errol Flynn. For all of us, as well, this is a week in which we may also feel itchy and long to change our circumstances. It will benefit us to go with these feelings, using them as an impulse to investigate new ways of living, working and relating. It is only possible to master your impulses and moods by understanding the secret language of birthdays. That is because the secret language of birthdays has the right explanation to reason out your behavior. Personology posits this central analogy: a day is a year is a lifetime is an age. It modifies conventional astrology in two ways--first in the empirical, earth-orientecl emphasis described above, and, second, in thinking about each sign as simply a further evolution of the one before it. In this way an astrological sign is really nothing absolute in itself but rather a spoke in the great wheel. Dane Rudhyar was the most important astrologer of our time to propose and clarify this idea.It is interesting to note that American composer Terry Riley, born during this cusp himself, wrote a string quartet for the Kronos Quartet entitled “ The Cusp of Magic,” named after this Personology period, and dedicated it to “ his dear friend Gary Goldschneider.” The Cusp of Magic is a highly romantic time, so you can expect an upsurge of your romantic feelings and a need to express them. At the same time you will have to be careful not to spin out of control in this area or to allow your illusion and fantasy to lead you astray. The birthdays presented in this book were gathered from many sources. Not infrequently, these sources disagreed about the day of birth of a given individual, and in these cases a consensus of five or six sources was sought. In the course of collecting birthdays, one often finds repeated errors due to the same factors, i.e., the day is correct but the month has been incorrectly copied, or perhaps the day itself is noted mistakenly as 8 instead of 18, or 2 instead of 21. Sometimes the death day is given instead of the birthday, or perhaps the researcher has confused two individuals with the same or similar names. I didn't get to read this cover to cover, of course, but I looked at what related to me and a few other people I know. I'm not sure the September 21st birthday really described the two people I know who have that birthday, but maybe I don't know them well enough? Though I think I do. It seemed like they wouldn't necessarily recognize themselves in what was said, but maybe they would and I just don't. Hmm.

Ultimately, the wisdom of Theresa Cheung and Gary Goldschneider serves to remind us that while the mystical world of birthday compatibility can provide insights and guidance, it is up to us to nurture and cherish the love we share with our partners. By embracing the unique qualities that each of us brings to a relationship, we can forge deep and lasting connections that transcend the boundaries of time and space. Watch children at play. Learn from them. Don't allow your ambition to lead you away from the best in you. Remain open to advice; take what others say about you seriously.

Historically seen, we may be looking at a partial explanation for why similar personalities are born in different time periods under the same sign, cusp or on the same day. The cyclical unfolding of repetitive "incarnations"--much like Yeats's gyres-suggests a cettain personality type arising at ahigher or lower level of the spiral, but always in the same location in any given year. Wintertime people are less concerned with the state of the world as it is now and more with how it could and should be. A real reforming spirit can show itself in this personality, and an interest in matters concerning political and economic justice is very common." pg. 19 Some Life Path numbers are believed to have a natural affinity for one another, while others may require more effort to overcome their differences. Understanding our own Life Path number and that of our partner can provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities we may face in our romantic journey. For the sake of clarity, the following rules have been adopted in The Secret Language of Birthdays birthday lists. OS birthdays are used in antiquity, and for those Europeans who died before the changeover took place to NS. Although astrologers disagree with this approach, arguing that April 3, 1421, was really April 12, 1421, it is this book's contention thatthe date of birth should be the one both accepted by government decree and celebrated by that individual at that time. In the special case of a small number of universal figures and astrologers, such as Nostradamus, who were aware of the difference or seem to have transcended their time, birthdays are given NS. Thus all historical birthdays are for the most part presented as OS until the change from OS to NS took place in that countty. British seventeenth century birthdays are thus OS even though other countries were ten days ahead. urn:oclc:36260094 Scandate 20110120071936 Scanner scribe9.shenzhen.archive.org Scanningcenter shenzhen Worldcat (source edition)

The final complication, that of nineteenth century Russians (Russia did not change over until the 1917 revolution), is met in the following way: nineteenth and twentieth centrny birthdays are given NS, since virtually the entire rest of the "civilized" world was operating on the new calendar system. Thus, Tchaikovsky's birthday is always given as May 7, although he was actually borntwelve days earlier, Russian OS time, on April 25. In the same way that the medieval alchemists taught "As above--so below," the followers of George Gurgieff (such as Rodney Collin in his book, The Theory of Celestial Influence), held that the cyclical revolutions of the electron around the atom (in the micro world of 1x10-10) relate to the revolutions of the planets around the sun (in the macro world of 1x10+10). At each step of the way, from the world of trillions to billions to millions to thousands to tens, or vice-versa, from the very small to the very large, revolves another world, and near the middle, the zero point, lies our world of everyday life. Newton's laws were mainly formulated for this near-zero-point world, but had to be modified as science examined increasingly larger (stellar) or smaller (microscopic) universes. It could be beneficial to all of us to use the exploratory energies of this week to invest in the future. By not only making new plans for the upcoming weeks and months, but also beginning to put them into place and get things rolling, we can sow the seeds for a harvest that can be reaped in the fall of this year.
