We have recently been able to open EAC Advice, a new 'housing options' advice service for older people. We have been holidaying in numerous cottages over several years,-ever since we have had dogs and one is 13 so have a lot of experience of self catering. Swallowdale has definately been one of the best cottages as it is so very clean, well fitted out and arranged. The provisions were superb and extremely welcoming. Trunch is a lovely village of friendly people many of whom seemed to have dogs . The pub was close by and sold newspapers too as there is no local shop.” Fishing methods: Anglers must use only legal fishing methods in the Broads. These methods include float fishing, ledgering, and lure fishing. The owners had thought of everything and the house was in a great location, being close to a shop, pub and walks.

Floors for paws – pawsafe domestic low slip flooring (endorsed by Canine Arthritis management – CAM) in the lounge/diner, hall and both bedrooms The only slight negative and it is slight, is that the grass needed cutting and the sofas were showing a little sign of wear and tear but neither of these things took away from a great stay. No doggy smells even though it’s a dog friendly property.Nice modern kitchen and appliances.Upstairs is a bit old fashioned wise and floorboards squeak ..nice on suite shower and toilet in double room. Swallowdale has free unlimited WiFi. Two televisions both with FreeSat and two DVD players with a selection of DVDs. Swallowdale is also dog friendly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (small charge). Water bowl and food bowls are available. There is patio furniture and a BBQ for those long warm summer evenings relaxing with a glass of wine by the river.A number of idyllic walks are available in the area, displaying some of the finest scenery imaginable. Swallowdale was originally dedicated to Elizabeth Abercrombie; the daughter of his friend Lascelles Abercrombie. Very nice area and local pub and people. Good central position for lake district exploration and walking/ climbing etc.
