About this deal

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .

Since the minerals are designed to inhibit weed growth for as long as possible, the efflorescence will take a long time to disappear. As an alternative you can scrape out the existing joints with a suitable tool and refill the joints with Dansand joint filling sand. However, since these areas are free from rain, excess salts and minerals from the filling material may migrate to the surface of the joints, causing white efflorescence.

Excellent product, easy to apply and although not yet tested, it would be great if it did inhibit weeds.I always do this now as a matter of course, it stops the salts coming out and frost damage etc, etc. With a simple brush in application, this jointing sand produces fully permeable joints in block paved driveways with no premixing or additional chemicals to worry about; just a little moisture will create solid joints! The mineral increases the pH-value and the ZAR value of the silica sand, creating an “unfriendly” environment that does not provide nourishment for weed plants.

You can minimise the formation of moss and algae by ensuring that the joints are always filled to the top with Dansand joint filling sand. Item was brand new in original packaging and was few pounds cheaper than the average online retailer, so got a great bargain for original product. There are essentially two types of weeds: Weeds that spread through a root network, and airborne weed seeds that settle in the joints. Dansand No Grow Block Paving Sand, the bag says prevents weeds, but grass grows easily and there was a couple of weeds. Specially designed to be as fine as possible, Dansand No Grow is ideal for joints between 3-10mm and can be brushed into the space between your patio pavers with no added chemicals, then lightly wet to set into a hardened joint. The paving needs to be perfectly dry before you begin sweeping the joint filling material into the joints. Just wondering if it's worth paying extra for kiln dried sand with weed inhibitor (higher ph levels) added, compared with normal kiln dried sand for sanding a large monoblock area (post-weed killing and powerwashing)? I purchased another product for my driveway, and it set fine as hard as concrete, but the odd small weed came through.
