About this deal

When I first took my brand new early Peavey 30 into my mates studio for recording he was pretty sceptical about the amp - until he heard it. Then his comment was "even clean you can hear it has valves in it!", and it is true. Clean s.s. amps and clean valve amps don't actually sound the same, and though when clean the apparent volume differences will be smaller they are still there and valve ones will still (typically) sound louder at the same actual wattage!

Don’t be fooled by the size of this little monster. The Orange Micro Terror 20 watt head can fill a large-size room with glorious sound and easily cut through the mix or overpower an aggressive drummer. The Fender Deluxe Reverb is a popular guitar amp created by the Fender Electric Instrument Company. The first Reverb was launched in 1963 and featured […] The outstanding features of this amp head are what make it one of the best and the smallest amp heads in the country. It couples a valve preamp to a solid state output section for generating a lot of tones, which is truly the company’s marvel, considering its pint-sized frame. The Orange Micro Terror features the same rugged metal build quality as other Terror amps but at just (approximately) 9" wide by 6" tall the Micro Terror takes 'portable' to another level. If you are thinking of buying a guitar, let me tell you that a guitar amp head will be the first thing you are going to need because, without an amp head, you will not even be able to hear the sound.

As always with this sort of decision it depends. On what you want, what sound you’re aiming for etc.I am sure by now you have a clear understanding of the pros and cons of the Orange Micro Terror. Read on to learn about the Orange Micro Dark, and the ball will finally be in your court to decide which one to buy. What is Orange Micro Dark

The Orange Micro Terror was developed as a guitar amp head after getting a major chunk of its inspiration from the Tiny Terror, previously launched by the Orange company. If you’re interested in the internal workings then the Micro Terror is a hybrid amp. That means it’s uses a single 12AX7 preamp tube with a class D transistor power amp. A mix of solid state affordability and reliability with tube tone. If you keep the gain extremely low and the volume at around 50%, you will get a reasonably good sound. If you want to get the gain higher, you will notice a soft saturation in the sound, and the volume will also go up.Hmm.. I'm not sure about this comment. If you had a 15w solid state amp and 15w tube amp output the same 15w waveform, they would be the same volume. The difference between tube amps and solid state is (as you mentioned) the saturation/compression. When tube power sections saturate and distort they actually become more efficient and output more than their rated clean power. The tiny terror actually probably outputs 20-25w when cranked dirty. Whereas solid state amps are kept below their clean output level because the resulting distortion is not pleasing, and can actually damage the amp and speakers.
