The tallest stair gate is 105cm and is ideal for parents looking to create a safe room divide between pets and children. It is vital you NEVER mount two stair gates on top of each other, even if your child has managed to learn how to climb over the one stair gate. By having two stair gates mounted one on top of each other you are creating entrapment and other safety hazards which far outweigh the reason for installing a safety gate in the first place. Safetots has both pressure fitting and screw fit stair gates available so you can install your extra tall safety gate almost anywhere in your home. We also have a range of extra tall stair gate extensions allowing you to fit your gate into wider doorframes or more unusual openings. If your staircase or doorway is narrow but you’d still like the safety of a tall stair gate, we have a selection of tall narrow gates too. Extra tall screw fitted safety gates are recommended for the top of a flight of stairs, as they provide the safest and most secure option being installed with screws. However, installing pressure fitted gates at the top of stairs is not recommended and we suggest pressure fit gates as an option in doorways and hallways only.
Extra tall or standard height stair gates should never be fitted within the actual stairwell. They are recommended only for the top and bottom of the stairs. Although not recommended, if an extra tall pressure fitted gate is the only solution for the top of the stairs, then installation to the second from top step is advised.
