Press and hold USB copy button and then press power button to power on the NAS. Wait about 6 seconds until the status LED turns RED. Then release USB copy button. Who needs a NAS featuring TB3 ports? The user group that comes to mind consists of video editors in need of lots of readily available storage space and fast transfer speeds, especially if they work with high resolution media. Fast storage (SSDs or M.2 drives, for instance) prices might have dropped notably within the last few years, but every video editor knows that only HDDs can provide the necessary storage capacity without spending a fortune. On top of that, it is good to use a proper RAID array for sensitive data, which consequently means that a notable portion of your available storage capacity is lost. I assume TVS-672XT and TVS-872XT customers not using TB card should not be affected by this problem but please do let us know. Use a pen or any pointed object to press and hold the RESET button. Then press the Power button on the front panel to power on the NAS at the meanwhile. After the system has been recovered, the NAS should boot up correctly and can be found by QNAP Finder. Once we have the lid removed, we can get a good look at the well organized internal layout of the TVS-472XT. I have seen the inside of ALOT of NAS over the years and although the TVS-472XT (like most NAS drives) resembles a PC in most ways, it is definitely better organized than a number of recent releases. This is a device that is going to produce heat in a number of ways to really push those performance benchmarks high, so you can tell that alot of work has gone into making sure the internals are distributed in the best way they can be.
