Dynamics overall is fine, it is punchy enough, it doesn't come across as slow or dead sounding at all. It's just a tad dull, the slam is just a little blunted. They almost sound a little over dampened in a way. The tuning is fantastic, putting it in the top tuned headphones at any price. But the technical performance lets it down slightly, at its price it's not terrible, in fact like I said at the beginning, the sound is overall average to above average in all ways. So this is a gaming headset that can trade blows outside of gaming headsets. Which is very impressive. But not surprising as the PC37x was already better than most gaming headsets, and the PC38x sound wise is better in most ways over its predecessor. The conclusion is fairly simple. This is simply the best gaming headset on the market. If all you care about is performance in games (mostly fps) then this is an easy buy. Even in terms of just gaming for fun, it does fairly well because of its great neutral tuning.

So overall while comfort for me wasn't amazing and after break-in, it was fine, for most people this will be very comfortable. Also when i received these headset, they came without there brand box. It isn't removable which I personally don't mind because this isn't something you're going to be wearing outside anyways. Thankfully the flip-up mute that is featured on all Sennheiser (now EPOS) gaming headsets is still here. Pretty much it's the same comfort as the PC37x but with a slightly better top padding as its split mesh (split top pads leave a space at the very top so you don't get a hot spot there). But this padding is less dense so no break-in time is needed but it will wear down faster (because the clamp is high it's not much of an issue). Not one to rest merely with a good product, Drop decided they wanted more than what the PC37X provided. The PC38X was the result. While it may not be leaps and bounds better than the PC37X, it does flesh out and improve on the sound with a better bass extension, and tonal balance, without giving up what makes these headsets so good for competitive gaming. That makes me a casually competitive gamer, where I mainly chat nonsense with my friends, but every once in a while I'll need to relay information to them. So I need a headset's sound quality to be good enough to highlight details and have a great sense of spatial awareness, even with such a limited volume. Does the PC38X pull through? Does it set itself apart from the PC37X/GAME ONE? If you're longing for an improvement over the improvements those headsets claimed over the original PC360, then yes. Yes it does. The mic sounds ok, nothing special, but it may be a little bit on the quiet side in my opinion. I had to turn the gain up +10dB through windows to be heard in discord.They come with a USB-C dongle, allowing you to plug them into your Nintendo Switch and PS5, as well as a cable that will allow you to plug the dongle into a PS4, for example. The pads size and depth are large enough to fit most ear sizes, and deep enough to keep your ears from bottoming out and pressing against the driver enclosure. The pads are soft fabric, more dense than velour. I can wear the PC38X for many hours and not feel the need to take them off. The alternative velour pads are perhaps a hint more comfortable to due it feeling cooler on the ears.

The HD599 is almost out of date now. It really doesn't do anything better than the PC38x, aside from wider staging. But everything else is either the same or a step-down. In a way, yes. But in another way, no. There's a little bit of history between the brand names and how it's all come to be under just the EPOS name now, but the bottom line is that Sennheiser's gaming audio has been folded into EPOS now - and the pedigree remains there. Spare Velour Pads - My guess is that these seem to be just like the velour pads used on the PC38X's older siblings.
