He was well known for his self-titled daytime chat show, The Paul O’Grady Show, which began airing in 2004, followed by the New Paul O’Grady Show. the book was not in the best condition If I was in a second hand store I would not have bought this book its old and looks it Sorry to say Im not happy with it

He went on to tour northern England as part of drag duo the Playgirls, before settling into a solo show as Savage that ran for eight years at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Last year he signed off from his final BBC Radio 2 show, having hosted the Sunday afternoon programme for nearly 14 years.

O’Grady began his career by performing as Savage in the 1970s whilst working as a peripatetic care officer for Camden Council in north London. O’Grady became popular with a whole new audience as the host of The Paul O’Grady Show which aired in a teatime slot on ITV from 2004 to 2005, later moving it to Channel 4 as The New Paul O’Grady Show. Birkenhead, 1973. The eighteen-year-old Paul O'Grady gets ready for a big Saturday night out on the town. New white T-shirt, freshly ironed jeans, looking good. As he bids farewell to his mum, who's on the phone to his auntie, and wanders off down the street in a cloud of aftershave, he hears her familiar cry: 'Oh, the devil rides out tonight, Annie. The devil rides out!' Even funnier and more touching than the million-selling first volume. I defy anyone not to enjoy this book" (Jilly Cooper Daily Telegraph)

So very sad. Wonderful funny Paul O'Grady - the Wirral's best. Thinking of all his loved ones. What a star. https://t.co/Si4Xr1pH85— Alison McGovern (@Alison_McGovern) March 29, 2023
