About this deal

A shrub is a concentrated syrup made with fruit, sugar, and vinegar, sometimes referred to as a ‘drinking vinegar’ and known for its health benefits. Shrubs can be mixed and matched to suit one’s taste but this one begins with 2 cups Pitaya, 2 cups vinegar (often apple cider vinegar), and 2 cups sugar In a shaker, mix the shrub, mezcal, and lime with ice and shake well. Strain into a sherry glass and finish with ginger beer and chilhuacle oil drops. Malibu rum is a coconut flavored liquor. Any tropical, fruity flavors will taste good with Malibu. Or course, we skip the rum part and focus on the simple, tasty flavor of coconut. Coconut water is more flavorful and much healthier to drink than rum! Brands like Boohoo, PacSun, Superga, Unique Vintage, and even small Etsy shops have put a Barbiecore (and Kencore) spin on some of our favorite items: rompers, drinkware (Barbie martini glass, anyone?), sunglasses, headbands, and every kind of sartorial Barbie reference you can imagine. Basically, there's enough pink merch out there to furnish our closets, kitchens, and entire homes.

Pour in a bottle of apricot or other fruit brandy and a bottle of triple sec. You can also add rum to the base, if you like. Just don’t use any spirits with dark color, or your finished product will look brownish. Let the base marinate overnight. Keep the tropical taste of this beachy drink in mind when you make any alterations to the recipe. You want to be sure to keep that warm weather, ocean vibe!Shake well and strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint, a lime wheel, and a skewer of melon. If you want to get fancy, you can marinate the garnishing melon chunks overnight in brandy or rum with shredded mint leaves. The Malibu barbie is a truly iconic doll. Malibu barbie is so well known that we had to create a drink named after her. Of course it had to be beachy, it had to be pink and it had to taste amazing. Malibu Barbie became very popular and has stayed that way since the 70’s. We wanted to create a drink inspired by this beachy, tropical girl. One sip of our Malibu Barbie drink and you will feel like you are at the beach, living the good life, too! What is in a Malibu Barbie Drink? No, you're not seeing the world through rose-colored glasses. That's just the influx of hot pink e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g hitting stores, screens, and even closets these past few months thanks to the much-anticipated release of the new Barbie movie, which comes out July 21. Barbiecore has become a term in everyone's vocabulary as a result of Greta Gerwig's star-studded masterpiece, and honestly? I'm not mad about it. It can be a dark and gloomy world out there—why not make things a little more ~rosy~ before we head to the Barbie mansion in the sky?

Skip the mango juice and use extra orange juice instead. Mango juice can be hard to find in the grocery store but orange juice should be very easy to locate! Heat sugar and vinegar over the stove, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves; add pitaya and allow to simmer for a couple minutes. Cool your liquid and strain out any solids using a fine mesh sieve or double-layer cheesecloth. Store in the fridge for 2 or more days to allow flavors to develop and then use as desired. Club soda is by composition a “saltier” carbonated water than seltzer. You can use either one in this beverage. We think we nailed it with our Malibu barbie drink! You will have to give it a try and find out for yourself. What is Malibu Barbie? Our Malibu Barbie drink is as easy as measuring and mixing the ingredients. Here is how it is done:If you don’t have an orange-flavored tequila, you can substitute any flavored liqueur as long as it’s clear; raspberry would be a great option. Muddle the fruit, lime juice, simple syrup, and mint leaves in a large shaker tin, making sure to break up the watermelon and mint leaves thoroughly. Add to the shaker tin 2 oz. sangria base and 2 oz. white wine. Orange juice is bright and bold. All these juices blend together to make something we think Malibu Barbie herself would love! Grenadine floats on the top of the drink, slowly blending into the glass to look like a sunset. Malibu Barbie would love a good sunset! We also really like the strong taste of cherry grenadine in this tangy drink.

Start by making a sangria base the night before. Just cut up some citrus fruit and put them in a two- or three-gallon pitcher. Lemons, limes, and oranges are best—just two or three of each. You can use grapefruit if you like a little bitterness in your drinks. Toss in some fresh berries if you have them, and give them a little squish with a spoon to release the juices. You can also add food grade rose buds or hibiscus tea, and some chunks of cucumber. Do what you want. There are no rules. Malibu Barbie first debuted in the early 1970’s. The doll was marketed as the classic, sun-loving, California girl. She has a deep tan, is always wearing sunglasses and even came with her own little beach towel. That Barbie doll is ready for the beach any day, anytime! You’ll love making this ahead of time because it’s so simple. Just make sure to leave out the egg white until you’re ready to serve. The fictional character that is Malibu Barbie lives at the beach. We wanted to capture that seaside lifestyle with a fruity and tropical drink. Malibu Barbie is also a very girly girl so we wanted to capture that charm with the bright pink color of our drink.
