About this deal

The Squier Stratocaster is one of the most popular electric guitars ever made. It was originally designed as an entry point for beginner guitarists to learn on. Since then, the Squier Strat has gone on to become a legitimate Strat in its own right. Featuring quality components and built to a high standard, they offer excellent value for money. In 1997, the Affinity series came to be. It was Squier's first product range to be made in China, and it began with an Affinity Telecaster. We then saw a Strat in 2001, and since then, the products have kept coming. Some Affinity models, such as the Affinity Starcaster, are made in Indonesia now too. These guitars are seriously cool, and as Squier likes to change around their models every couple of years, they could also become pretty rare. FSR Both the feel and the tone of an Affinity Stratocaster is closer than the Bullets to real Fender guitars. Overall, these guitars are made very very well. For this kind of money, we're expecting the basics to be done to a good standard – nothing else – and we were pleasantly surprised at how solid and well-made these ranges feel when playing them.

Even many gigging musicians rely on Squier, if they don’t make enough money to afford a Fender. In many cases they can afford one, but they’ve been happy with a Squier all along, so they never make the change. Squier is the main choice for beginning and intermediate players. The Squier Bullet Stratocaster HSS HT reviewed here is an incredibly popular budget model that we voted as the best cheap electric guitar option on the market. Fender marketed two models, initially manufacture was set up offshore in Korea, but due to technical issues, such as unacceptable high actions, the guitars were recalled to the U.S.A for manufacture at the Fullerton plant. One thing I’d change about the Bullet Strat is its nut, which already looks like it’s about to break.

Why Choose a Squier Stratocaster?

Aside from those few shortcomings, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster is a solid electric guitar in most ways. The worst thing about the build was the nut installation. Honestly, it’s so bad it’s almost a dealbreaker for me. There's no two ways about it, the Classic Vibe Bass VI is a funky looking, sounding and acting thing. From a distance it looks like a guitar, and up close, it looks like a bass guitar - and to be honest, it's kind of neither of those things, but also both of those things at the same time. Not making any sense? Let us explain. If you’re looking for your very first electric, it makes a great beginner guitar. Even if you’ve got years of experience, you can still have a good time with it, especially if you’re a Fender fan. Sure, it’s fun to play and has a taste of that signature Fender tone—but its poor build quality bothers me.

Squier represents the affordable side of the Fender brand. Producing officially-licensed Fender designs, Squier guitars are made to the exact same measurements as their parent company’s models. And ultimately, Squier instruments offer that genuine Fender feel and tone for just a fraction of the price. Squier Bullet Series Stratocasters This guitar comes with a synced tremolo bridge, which is synonymous to durable, quality bridges you can really have fun with. Also, this is not very common for affordable guitars. Today, modern Fender Stratocasters are made in Japan, Mexico or the United States at Fender’s Corona factory. However, for many guitarists, a Fender Strat may be out of their budget. That’s where Squier comes in. If you’re looking for an affordable Stratocaster, Squier is a great choice. Fender’s entry-level brand is the only company aside from Fender that can make genuine Stratocasters. The Squier Bullet is the cheapest series across the Squier and Fender brands. It’s a very common lineup for students and kids as it’s designed to be someone’s first guitar. This HSS configuration can give you a little bit more versatility and a bit more power necessary for grittier genres.

That means it features the exact same design as the classic Stratocaster, although Squier cuts some corners on building materials, tonewoods, and finishes. The Bullet Strat carries the classic looks of the American Stratocaster guitars, which are one of the most popular guitars of all time, right there with the legendary Gibson Les Paul series.

I can say the Bullet Strat has a great value that won’t require you to spend your savings. And you will get great, easy playing experiences with some nice extras (like the tremolo bridge) to begin your musical journey. If you prefer the tremolo, you’d be better off getting the Affinity Strat from Squier, instead of the Bullet. The hardware in starter guitars can be one of the worst components—thankfully Squier doesn’t cheap out here. A Squier Stratocaster is the most affordable way to experience the iconic electric guitar’s crisp, articulate tone, inviting playability and sleek retro-futuristic looks. Fender acquired the Squier brand in 1965. By 1982, Fender rebranded Squier as started using the subsidiary as a way to produce low-cost guitars and basses following the same Fender designs.Chevne, Steven (1998). Fjestad, Zachary R. (ed.).
