But what's still confusing is why MODOK appears the way he does in the MCU and why his face has been covered by a golden faceplate unlike his comic look. Perhaps the team simply had difficulty making that design translate to live-action, or maybe whatever may be behind the mask will prove to be a spoilery reveal. While fans will no doubt be eager to see him on screen, the question remains as to what his purpose within the overall story of the movie will be. The plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania revolves around Lang's family finding themselves in the Quantum Realm and interacting with the inner space inhabitants. It's possible that the film will re-imagine the character as being a robotic program that serves the people of the Quantum Realm, or possibly Kang himself. Knowing that Kang has sinister motives for the heroes, MODOK will probably be more than willing to complete his mission of killing, or at least assist in doing so. According to Variety, Majors has already been dropped from advertising campaigns and as the lead in the movie The Man In My Basement, so his involvement in any future Marvel projects remains to be seen, and there is always the possibility that the role of Kang may be recast for future movies.
