While not exactly beloved by Thunderbirds fans generally it’s important to remember that 2086 was originally a different series in its own right before it got rebranded with the Thunderbirds name, and although that rebranding may always have been in the mind of the show’s creator the entire series was inspired by his love for the original Thunderbirds.
