Your playmat will be made from two pieces of fabric - a patterned piece and a plain water resistant piece, used as a lining. Size: The size of this toy storage bag is 32cm x 28cm; the diameter of the cushion in the storage bag is 150cm; the storage bag has a matching lid, which can better store toys in the storage bag and will not fall easily. From that mark, topstitch all around, creating an inner circle. This will be the tunnel for the canvas ribbon to pass through. So, by all means, this is not a super unique and original idea, but I think I put my own unique twist on it. Sew 1/4″ stitch around the circle, starting at the beginning of the part you left unpinned and stopping at the other end right before the gap. The diameter of the patterned piece will need to be 5" larger than that of the lining, mine ended up at 54" & 49".

Starting at one end of the fabric tube, “thread” the rope through until you reach the other end. You’ll have to do a bit of tugging and adjustment until the mat lays flat and the tubing isn’t bunched up. Due to the size I suggest usingfabric glue to hold them in place, then stitching along the edges in zigzag to firmly hold them in place. Paint on your central markings on the roads with fabric paint. Sew them together into one large strip. Make sure to put the edges right side together, so the seam doesn’t show. When complete, this playmat measures approximately 19.5 x 19.5 inches. If you’d like to make a larger custom size, you may either enlarge the pattern at a copy shop, or use the instructions in the PDF pattern to create your own pattern.
