Whiskey sour: 40ml Horse with No Name, 20ml fresh lemon juice, 10ml sugar syrup, 1 barspoon powdered sugar, cocktail cherry. The more the whiskey works its way into and back out of the oak, the faster it will mature while gaining character and balance. The Old Fashioned is one of the earliest whiskey cocktails in modern record, thought to be developed in the early 1800s. The Bourbon is aged for four years in toasted American oak barrels then blended with habanero distillate produced from specially cultivated Red Savina habanero chilis grown in the Black Forest.

French spirits firm Pernod Ricard has teamed up with Alexander Stein, creator of Monkey 47 gin, to launch Horse with No Name, a habanero chilli-laced spirit drink made from Bourbon. The habanero is a spicy and fruity variety of chili pepper whose name indicates something or someone from La Habana (Havana, Cuba).The chilli is definitely present but not overwhelming and the notes of coconut and vanilla make it very well rounded. The brand has already teamed up with bartender Alex Kratena, who developed a bottled cocktail with the liquid at his east London bar Tayēr + Elementary.

Our bourbon is made with yellow dent Texas corn, soft red winter wheat, six-row distiller´s malt and a proprietary yeast strain that was captured from a Texas pecan.
